Man City played the second leg tie of the Champions League Semi-final against Real Madrid and lost 3-1 (5-6 on aggregate in favour of Madrid).

Man City maintained 1-0 lead (5-3 on aggregate) till 90' when Madrid equalized 1-1(making 5-4). Madrid scored another goal in 91' minute. Then winning goal in extra time.

But I think Man City coach (Guardiola) made some amateurish mistakes.

First, in a big match like this, he should have changed his tactics. Thinking he will attack full-time is total flop. Around that 80', I expected him to relax his attacking force and reinforce his defence wall (I trust Mourinho).

Secondly, Substituting De Bruyne and Mahrez at the same time is no-no. He should have told Sterling to be jogging to convince Ancelloti (Real Madrid coach) on who he (Ancelloti) would bring in (as Super sub).

Thirdly, using Dias, Laporte, Cancello and Zinchenko together at the back was too clumpsy. Fine, he started with 4 defenders. But since Walker had been injured, I expected him to maintain 3-man defender, then bring In blocking 4

Lastly, he was too relaxed when Madrid equalized (5-4 on aggregate). He was just acting as if the match has ended. Serious yelling on the players would have boosted their morale.

I think he should be more experienced than making such monumental mistake that eventually marred his Champions League winning in Man City hope.

Watching City lose like that was just so satisfying. It felt like finally having the opportunity to take a big shit at your house after struggling through traffic for hours.

Fans so arrogant, coach so arrogant.

Take a look at the last 10 pages of the Nairaland thread during the first leg.

Absolutely zero respect for a team that you had a scoreline of 4:3 with. grin grin

Imagine substituting Mahrez for old man Fernadinho.
Chai!
