Hello Champ,

Welcome to today's artist advice where we share tips on how to be a better artist, sell your song, and make money from your music.

Many artists have created lovely songs but putting them out there is always very difficult.

Most of the time, it's not about the song but the artist's marketing strategies.

Selling your music online requires another level of music marketing, you have to be deliberate and consistent.

Let's go through some of the reasons why your song is not selling as you have anticipated.

4 Reasons Why Your Music is not Selling
Your Song is not Share-Worthy

Like I will always say and will keep saying, make sure your song is worth it, don't just make music, make very good music.

To understand the importance of making good music, read our last artist advice titled "The Music Business".

The benefits of making good music cannot be overemphasized, people look out for the value your music is adding, and they want songs that are relatable and enjoyable.

The music business is not beans, so to sell your music you must create something that is share-worthy, something that is very interesting.

Most of the songs from artists like Kizz Daniel, Timi Dakolo, Joeboy, Fireboy, and more always have good quality and are very relatable.

No One Knows Your Song

Don't just create music and leave it for the gods, my dear you need to aggressively create buzz around your music.

Create challenges and ask people to recreate them, this can only be possible if your music is relatable. examples are alcohol by Joeboy, Finesse by Buju TYE and Pheelz, and more.

You can also create a dance style around your music, and ask people to recreate them, and everywhere will be set on fire. examples are Bloody Sammarithan by Ayra Starr, Duduke by Simi

You can add a little reward like money, gifts, etc, for your fans, this will even encourage them to participate massively.

Your Song is Not easy to Find

You have to make sure that your songs are on top and known streaming stores.

There are lots of digital music distribution platforms, use them to distribute to as many streaming stores as possible.

I would always recommend you used flaretechmusic.com to distribute your songs.

Like I always tell people, you can create a great product but if people don't know about it, the purpose is defeated.

Utilize every medium you know for marketing your music and promoting your music, no time to relax or try one and leave the other.

Use radio stations, and social media platforms, seek to perform at events and collaborate with other singers. do everything possible to get your music out there.

Fortunately, Flaretechmusic also provides you with radio promotion features, the easiest and fastest way to get your music on air.
