Well, they will have to. 1.Cost of business is rising due to the international rise in oil prices...which also affects gas. 2.Power companies are running at a loss, and even with government subsides (supposedly discontinued this year, but still around, IMHO), they still lose at least N1 trillion a year, because it is NERC, not the sector, that sets tarrifs. 3.The value of the naira is falling because we run an economy based just on the cost of crude oil...and right now , even with the rise in oil prices, we have to pay off debts, plus feed the subsidy monster...which means ....not enough forex to keep the value of the naira up.(We still have to save something too). Ye cannot pay for power less than the cost it takes to produce power, and expect to have power 24/7. Ye have GSM because you pay for their service at the cost the GSM companies set. "We have clearly said that we have an obligation by law to do minor review every six months to take care of inflation, forex and so on.” Imagine this kind of trash! You do "minor" adjustment because of inflation and the rest. But no adjustment in salaries and wages, abi inflation don't affect those ones? 8 Likes 1 Share

That's their modus operandi: Do it first, deny it publicly, hide like an ostrich, execute what you denied, put it in repeat. Shame on the anti-people APC government, who boasted in the GEJ days that electricity is not rocket science but have now spent 7 years increasing the cost of darkness and hardening the cost of living for the everyday man. 2 Likes |

Since they formed NERC (over 7 years) they could not implement meter distribution to consumers. The only thing they know how to do is hike tarrif and defraud Nigerians. 1 Like |
