LAGOS – The leading contender for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket and National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, may be considering handing over his mandate and structure to for­mer Lagos State governor and incumbent Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fash­ola, at the dying minutes of the party’s presidential convention, Sunday Independent has gath­ered.

Sources close to the camp of the APC National Leader, told Sunday Independent in Lagos on Saturday that Tinubu had been feeling slighted by his for­mer followers who now have become his opponents in the coming presidential primaries of the party.

Some of the followers, the sources indicated, included the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo; Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State; Pastor Tunde Bakare; for Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun and any other aspirant from the party in the South West.



Sunday Independent gath­ered that while the aspirants would be going round to out­play Tinubu during the prima­ries, the APC Leader had kept his joker under wraps, which the sources said would be to let his opponent to continue believ­ing that they had all it would take to defeat him during the primaries.

One of the sources told Sunday Independent: “Please, don’t mind these disloyal and disrespectful former ‘boys’ of Asiwaju who are now biting the fingers that fed them.

“Asiwaju made them what­ever they think they are now politically. Now, they have the audacity to challenge him to a contest by picking presidential forms instead of allowing him as their ‘Master’ to go for the South West.”

Another source questioned the popularity of Osinbajo, whose only qualification for the nation’s Number One po­sition, he said, was only being a Vice President to President, which was also made possible by Tinubu himself.

The source said: “Osinbajo has no political structure any­where, be it in Lagos or in the South West. People do not consider Osinbajo as a pol­itician. He is a lawyer and Pastor.





“All the structures in La­gos and South West which all the aspirants are laying claim to belong to Tinubu. All the state APC chairmen in the South West belong to Tinubu’s structure and he has been meeting with them and taking care of them over the years.

“The governors think that as the party’s leaders in the state’s they control the struc­tures in the state. What they do not know is that the struc­tures they think they control belong to Asiwaju. Asiwaju has been oiling the structures over the years. Very soon, their eyes will clear.”

I don't see tinubu stepping down for anyone though

Anyhow and anyway,Osinbajo is far ahead in all ramifications, it's catch up the others are trying to do, if Tinubu likes let him support Oluremi his wife in last minute, we have plans for that as well.

Oga that was Fashola of those days, he is now very matured. When National Assembly kept padding his budget and slashing funds for critical projects, he complained as the Stubborn stingy guy he was .. the lawmakers humbled him and made him apologise and since then the guy never said a word

With the fate of Aregbesola, Ambode and Obanikoro .. Fashola won't act principled and stingy if given the chance

Allah will make it easy for him. He has paid his due as far as Nigeria politics is concerned. Asiwaju the next President of Nigeria In Sha Allah.

If this is true then it means Tinubu has lost the plot by far. Supporting Osinbajo's candidacy is the only way to save himself from disgrace. Fashola will lose woefully
