A 16-year-old girl have been arrested in Kenya after she allegedly killed another girl of the same age following a disagreement over a 2GB memory card.

According to a statement released by Kenya’s Directorate of Criminal investigation, the suspect allegedly stabbed her age mate on the left side of her chest, killing her instantly, in a shocking occurrence that has left people in Mulot, Bomet county of Kenya, in tears.

DCI revealed that all attempts to rush the 16-year-old to the hospital proved abortive as doctors at the Longisa district hospital confirmed her death on arrival.

The incident, according to the statement, occurred outside Sweet Wines and Spirits, next to West Inn bar in the sleepy Mulot Sunset trading centre in Kenya. It is unclear whether the adolescent girls were on their way to school or what they were doing in the restricted area.

The suspect has been arrested and she’s currently awaiting arraignment at the Mulot police station, DCI said.

Meanwhile, investigators have expanded the scope of their investigation into this case to determine whether adults accompanied the young girls to the liquor store, whether they were intoxicated prior to their argument, and who was responsible.
