Like I have said, the Southners are very gullible with the way they play politics in Nigeria.

The politics the Northerners are used to playing is about divide and rule. The moment they destroy the internal mechanism of a political party, they move to the next one whereby the majority of the people there are from the North. And the Southerners are so gullible to the extent that they follow them like cows.

NO LONGER A NATION; THE FALL OUT
By: Shigaba Victor Guda ️
Every beautiful place have a story, either good or bad. There was a time our land (Nigeria) flourish without cruelty and fear, without terror and discrimination, without sentiment and marginalization, the times of our fathers and the fathers before them. A time when people sleep with their both eyes closed without fear of terror or bandits attack.
There was a time the nation's dream was clear that it's on the verge of making impact in the lives of the citizens. There was a time Nigeria was people's dreamed country. There was a time we were regarded and truly was the leader of the black race. There was a time we were truly one as a nation. A time when we are truly and practically the giant of Africa.
But today, gone are those days. Gone are those days when we eat together, play together, work together, fight to achieve a common goal together as a nation, eat each other’s food without any atom of fear of being poisoned or betrayed.
But are we truly what we were regarded to be today? No! We are no longer what we are meant to be. Today Ethnicity and Religious diversity has shattered our dreams. Greed, power intoxication and selfishness has taken over the hearts of our leaders. No one cares if we are together.
We are just a nation verbally agreed, but no longer a nation practically and inwardly. Ethnic diversity has taken over our hearts. Power hunger has crippled and corrupt the mind of our ethnic leaders. The country has turned to a regional and religious contest for power. It has become a place where the Hausas no longer see the Igbos as brothers. Yoruba no longer see the Hausa man as his blood. The Igbo man no longer regard a Yoruba as his fellow brother.
Because am from Imo state I can't live peacefully in Kano state without being criticized or abused day-in-day-out. I can't live a day without being called 'Iyamiri'. 'What are you doing here?' they would tell me. 'Why can't you live in your own state if you know that is better than here?'
Because am from Ogun state I can't live peacefully in Anambra state without receiving some racial abuses. 'Look at him, a betrayal from the pit of hell' they would say to me.
Because am from Sokoto I can't live a comfortable life in Osun state without being called 'Aboki, Gambari, Iran kiran etc'
Why all these? What is that thing that has taken over our hearts? Why the hatred to this peak? Why the condemnation of one another?
Have we forgotten that we achieved this dream as one? We never used diversity to become one in this nation. Our independent heroes fought as one to get us to this level but with what is currently going on at the moment, it all shows that we have betrayed them.
Let’s not forget so easily that we are all human and one Nigeria before race disconnected us, we are one Nigeria before religion separated us, we are one Nigeria before politics divided us, we are one Nigeria before wealth classified us and we are one Nigeria before language differentiate us.
Today the country is no longer save for all of us. Our gallant fathers and brothers (Soldiers) are being killed every day like chickens by bandits and Boko Haram terrorists. How are we going to fight these mirage? In diversity or in unity? We all know the answer. Things holds in unity but falls apart in diversity.
Bad leadership has contributed immensely to the high increase of poverty rate. Poverty and unemployment have helped to trigger the security crisis in this nation. The current rate of unemployment in Nigeria is mouth-opening, a shame to a nation like Nigeria that claims to be the giant of Africa. What this means is that a great number of youths are idle and have become willing tools for crime of all sorts. Illegal ways of making money has taken over the minds of the youths as a result of this unemployment rate. In order to achieve their dreams and become rich, they take and indulge in all sorts of hard drugs which make them lose value for human life. Lately, South East was designated as a haven for drugs. The reigning one now is called ‘meth’ in local parlance. Same applies to the north where hard drugs and toilet-inhaling has become a popular habit in the lives of the youths. It is obvious that drugs and crime go together. Youths who take them can go to any length to commit evil.  The intake of hard substances has triggered loss of control and human sympathy. This people lost control and being hired by our heartless politicians to commit evil.
In recent days, the country has been experiencing countless attacks and killing of our brothers and sisters both in the north and the south. Bandits and terrorists attacks in the north. Unknown gunmen and ritual killings in the southern region. We can no longer sleep with our two eyes closed because the government has betrayed us. The government has failed us in all ramification. But the most interesting of it all is that we have failed ourselves as a nation. We have used too much sentiment, unreasonable arguments, religion and ethnic differences to fail ourselves. I don’t want to cite an example but have seen many. Have seen people died out of the ignorance of the other people around. Why? Because of either religion or ethnic differences. As people we have failed ourselves.
Sometimes ago, there was a warning signals which we failed to listen to during the early 2000 and also way back to the time of Fela when he sounded some warnings to us via music. But all we thought then was that he was drunk and just trying to make his money in his own way. Nobody actually paid much attention to what he was saying but today we are eating at the dinning of our own regret. The likes of singers and song writers like Africa China, Oritse Femi, Dagrin, 2face and Eedris Abdulkareem had also sounded this warnings but we took them as a joke.
In Africa China's albums titled 'Crisis and Mr. President' this young man tried to raise an alarm and call our attention to the unjustifiable acts and corruption going on in government. He singled out and unveiled some heartless and brutal killings going on in the southwest which are swept under the carpets, using Ajegunle as his case study. In one of his songs which he titled 'How Long?' Africa China asked a question stating that 'How long will Africa realize? He further the question that how long will Nigerians realize that we don’t know where we are going. No love for one another, killing and maltreatment of each other. As at then we never paid attention to any of this. Has his question been answered? No!
His song titled ‘Crisis’ is a message where he tried to tell Nigerians about June 12, an unwelcome incident that happened in Ajegunle area where burning and killing took place. He also talked about that of Mile 12. It was an incident that needed concern and attention but we were careless to it and today such activities is at top notch. It has become what is topping our headlines and top chats.
In another song titled ‘Our Government Bad’ he hit on lack of unemployment stating that the government don’t want to give a ghetto man job. The rich are getting richer while the poor man dies. Was it a lie? What actually did Africa China saw before singing that?
In another album titled ‘Mr. President’ he used the medium to plead with the top government officials and leaders to please lead us well and govern us well. Also hinting on the corrupt practices of the Nigeria police where he said ‘Police man go see white he go tell you say that thing na red’. Today are these not things we are experiencing? Was he right or wrong? We best know the answer ourselves. What is happening in Kaduna state at the moment is one of the typical example of what Africa China was trying to figure out as at then. I can continue to unveil some things this young man was trying to reveal to us as at then but we turned deaf ears and turned our faces to another direction.
Oritse Femi on his own side was making efforts to draw our attention to the oil theft and treachery looting going on in the Niger Delta region where he stated in one of his songs titled ‘Elewon’ that they sold our oil land to Oyinbo ‘Dem they sell our oil land, To oyinbo them, Na im make boys dey vex, Them come dey kidnap them’ but what do we think then? We thought the Niger Delta boys are just trouble makers fighting for their own selfish interest.
Also Oritse Femi went further to sing ‘Flog Politician’ reminding Nigerians that baba Fela has told them before and him, he will still tell them again. The song ‘Flog Politician’ doesn’t actually mean that we should physically hold canes and cables to flog them, he was just trying to communicate to us that we should be wise. But are we? No! But we all thought then that he was under the influence of fresh Marijuana (Weed) leading him to open his empty vessel mouth to pour out nonsense. Little do we know that this singer had foreseen something from afar. What some of us does then was to jump of the beat and dance unconsciously.
When Dagrin sang ‘Democracy’ we thought because he was a ghetto boy he have nothing to offer because we believe that nothing good comes from the ghetto. But all what he said in the song was true.
The likes of 2face and Idris Abdulkadir also did their best to send message to us but we failed to listen. ‘E be like say’ by 2face and ‘Jagajaga’ by Idris are songs not to forget so easily.
These are prophets of our time but we missed out on them because we expected them to look like an average religious men, we expected them to be mounting on pulpits every Sundays or standing in front of crowds calling prayers every Friday in the mosque. We forgot that consciousness is all about the soul and not the physicality.
Today their words are now coming to us like prophecies. We are now seeing all what they were saying then. Now we can’t sleep in peace without fear of terror or bandit attacks. We are now being tormented by crimes that we don’t commit.
What are we celebrating? We are busy celebrating musicians with absolutely no lyrics. We are busy celebrating empty vessels. Music with wrack lyrics, noise and nothing else.
Instead of us to think of a better way to pursued the government to do the right thing we are busy celebrating something else. We already know that the government has failed us in all ramifications, most especially in the part of security where nowhere is safe in this country. There is no better place, either north or south.
It was on a sad note that the people of Dillalai, Zango Tama, Kaya, Barebari, Anguwan Bakko, Gidan Alhajin Kida, Kadanya and Durumi among others of Kaduna state were sleeping peacefully without disturbing the peace of anyone when bandits came from nowhere with their guns, cutlasses and charms killing scores of people and setting houses and other properties ablaze. They were killed for crimes they never committed. Some were abducted and taken to the bush for what they know nothing about.
What about another attack where over 70 people were confirmed killed and properties razed in a Sunday afternoon attacks in Kukawa, Gyambawu, Dungur, Kyaram, Yelwa, Dadda, Wanka, Shuwaka, Gwammadaji, and Dadin Kowa in Kanam local government area of Plateau State while yet to be known number of people sustained injuries.
The people were enjoying their Sunday that unfaithful day when death suddenly came to din with them for crime they know nothing about. Killed for no reason. We are human and we would never forget this.

What about another bandits attack that hit communities in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State (Anguwar Maiwa and Anguwar Kanwa) killing 23 locals on Tuesday night, injuring many others as they shot sporadically during the attacks on the communities. The bandits attacked the villages around 1:00 am on Tuesday while these people were sleeping peacefully. These are my people, our people slaughtered in cold blood.
We shouldn’t also forget Tsonje, Agban, Katanga and Kadarko, all within Kagoro Chiefdom of Kaura LGA in Kaduna state where the state government confirmed the recovery of 34 corpses including two military officers from the scene of an attack on Sunday in Kaura Local Government Area of the state. The victims of this inhuman slaughter includes Angelina Aboi, Godiya Iliya, Peace Iliya, Stephen Emmanuel, Patrick Pius, Gwamna Ishaya, Philip Joseph, Godwin Latong, Aba Chawai, Nancy Luka, Sophia Luka, Hosea James, Daniel Sofa, Geoffrey Ado, Bala James, Henry Dauda, Augustine Iliya to mention but few. These are my people, our people slaughtered in cold blood.
Similarly, the recent spate of killings in the South East, especially in Anambra State, demands urgent and drastic action from our security agencies. These heartless killings have no pattern. On one occasion, a group of gunmen suspected to be cultists invaded a funeral ceremony at Ebenebe in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra. They not only killed at least 20 mourners, they also desecrated the corpse inside a coffin by shooting at it several times. This is insane and pure evil.
What about the incident in Abia State where some gunmen also invaded a new cattle market at Omumauzor in Ukwa West Local Government Area recently and killed at least eight people.
Some areas has suddenly become danger zones in the South East. Towns like Orlu, Orsu, Oru-East local governments in Imo State; Ihiala axis of Anambra State such as Isekke, Lilu, Orsumoghu, Azia, and Mbosi; Aguata and Orumba Local Government Areas of Anambra with Oko, Ekwulobia and Isuofia has become major flashpoints.
What about the attack in Ebonyi? The attack in Ebonyi State, according to a detailed investigation, claimed more than twenty-six (26) lives and destroyed seventeen (17) houses in the early hours of Sunday, 10th April 2022.
The affected villages included Ohagelede, Umuezeoka, Ebbiaji and Ebbeta, all in Ezza/Effium and part of Ebonyi Local Government Areas of Ebonyi State.
According to a source which I read, it was said that people were seen in groups mourning their beloved family members who were killed during the attack while others were busy relocating members of their families, including properties for fear of further attacks by the suspected assailants. Is this how we would continue living in fear? No, we have to end this.
According to an eyewitness from Umuezeoka village, the incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, at Ezza villages of Ohagelede, Umuezeoka, Ebbeta and part of Ebonyi Local Government Areas, where the alleged assailants from Effium invaded the Ezza speaking side of the community.
The gunmen allegedly massacred over 26 persons and destroyed 17 houses in the area. The incident happened around 6:00 am and the invaders kept operating till 2:00 pm.
One could imagine how gunmen would operate from 6am to 2pm, about 9hours of constant operation, gun shooting and massacring of our people.
What about that of Anambra State where unknown gunmen killed four Policemen attached to the Atani Police Station, Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state?
Are we to forget that of Nnewi where pandemonium broke out in the early hours of the day at the Chikason traffic light as people ran helter-skelter for their lives following sporadic shooting by unknown gunmen?

NO LONGER A NATION
By
Shigaba Victor Guda
Continuation
Consequently, the South East has gradually become a cemetery of some sort as people become more careful of their movements. Driving a good car is now a crime in the region. If you are seen to be wealthy in any way, you are a target. The region is not too far from what happened in places like Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, and Syria where gangsters rule.
What not to be forgotten so quickly was what happened from 4 to 6 January 2022, where over 200 people were killed by bandits in Zamfara State. This was the deadliest terrorist attack in recent Nigerian history. According to the account I read, we could see that shortly before the attacks, bandits led a raid on a group of 3,000 cattle only to be confronted by local vigilantes, leading to a gunfight and battle between the two parties. The outnumbered vigilantes lost and many of them were slain by bandits, and the killings of villagers began.
How does this come to play where bandits would operate for almost 72hours successfully beginning around 12:45 PM, on Tuesday, 4 January, where gunmen on motorcycles whose numbers have been estimated as stretching from 300 to 500 entered the town of Kurfar Danya, marking the start of a series of attacks on villages in the Anka and Bukkuyum local government areas of Zamfara. Gangs shot villagers as they looted and burned their homes to the ground. For two days, armed bandits laid siege to the towns of Kurfa and Rafin-Gero without an intervention by the government. Five different settlements were destroyed by bandits. One survivor described bandits as shooting "anyone on sight.
The massacres ended on Thursday, 6 January, after military forces intercepted the bandits. A bandit leader named Bello Turji was accused of being responsible for the massacres. At first Zamfara State authorities placed the death toll at 58, but this was widely controversial. Some internally displaced people stated the number of people killed as 154. A spokesperson for Sadiya Umar Farouq, the minister of humanitarian affairs, said that more than 200 bodies were buried, a number also reported by local residents. Among the victims of the killings was Gambo Abare, a prominent leader of anti-bandit vigilante groups.
The aftermath of this attack never sweetened the ears as over ten thousand people became internally displaced persons and five settlements were burned down. Many resources were stolen, with an estimated 2,000 cattle being taken by bandits.
What was the intervention of our government? Nigerian authorities arrived to the districts only to help organize mass burials. And as of 10 January, many people were still missing.
Attacks by bandits have not ceased even till date, and on 10 January, bandits stormed the Zamfaran village of Yar Kuka, abducting twelve people, including the village head, his wife and brother, and two miners from Burkina Faso. The next day, bandits raided Kadauri in Maru LGA, kidnapping six women.
On 11 January, bandits slaughtered 51 civilians from Plateau and Niger States in a similar incident.
On 12 January, Zamfara governor Bello Matawalle announced that lack of security had become "an existential threat" in the state and the North-West of Nigeria as a whole, and demanded that the federal government involve itself further in the conflict.
All these are happening because our government has failed us. We as people has failed ourselves.
Are we also to forget the recent incident in Plateau state in Kukawa, Gyambau, Kyaram and Wanka where over 78 persons were massacred as at the time of media report? Leaving many injured and others scampered for safety. As at the time of the report the actual number of dead persons couldn’t be ascertained because there are doubtless believe that there are still many corpses in the bushes which are yet to be discovered. At later end, it was gathered that over 100 persons were killed.
To confirm the incident and number of casualty. A source said given the figure of dead bodies discovered, a resident who gave his name simply as Ibrahim said “…on Sunday many motorcycles, each one carrying three bandits stormed the communities. This incident happened when people were clearing their farms in preparation for raining season, some people were going about their normal businesses when the bandits run into the communities with heavy arms and started shooting sporadically.
“We yet know those who are behind such atrocities as well as how many people were killed because nobody can tell exactly the numbers of houses that were razed down by fire as a result of their heartlessness. 36 persons were killed in Kukawa, 24 persons in Gyambau, eight persons in Kyaram, and 10 persons killed in Wanka, making it 78. The number of dead bodies in the bush is unknown and some persons are missing. Whether they were abducted or missing, we don’t know yet. Some injured persons are in the hospitals. As we speak, many people are displaced.”
We could also remember that a similar incident happened shortly before then where bandits have taken over many villages in Gassol and Karim Lamido local government areas of Taraba State.
Daily Trust findings revealed that the worst affected by the bandits’ activities is Kambari town. Kambari village in Karim Lamido Local Government Area is located on the bank of River Benue and not far away from the border of Plateau State. The town and other neighbouring villages is also surrounded by thick forests and without access road which makes it a safe heaven for criminals. The dare devil bandits, it was further learnt, have forced the police and vigilante to abandon their duty posts in that axis.

The bandits, according to sources in the area, forcefully sleep with house wives and young girls. Residents of the town have resigned to fate as there is no any action from the authorities to checkmate the criminal activities.

Similarly, other villages in both Gassol and Karim Lamido local government areas located on the bank of River Benue are also under the threat of the terrorists.
Residents of six villages across River Benue, in Karim Lamido local government, were forced to relocate to other places because of criminal activities of the terrorists.
The villages, Daily Trust gathered include Gwammo, Wurno, Tungan Kaya, Gidan Kawoyel and Ali Kwala.
Similarly, WuroJam, Karar, Shika, Amar, Zip, WuruJam, Illela and Maigemu among others are now under the threat of the terrorists.
Daily Trust also gathered that the bandits move freely day and night with their weapons in some of the affected villages and towns. Findings revealed that the terrorists have become lords to themselves and are kidnapping residents without let or hindrance. In some of the affected villages, young boys were said to have been recruited by the terrorists and are the ones informing the terrorists of houses of wealthy individuals.
How could evil of this height be happening in this nation without proper discipline, yet when the bandits or terrorist are caught the government rehabilitate them back to the community where they have taken countless lives and sent people to their early graves.
Just of a recent a Kaduna bound train from Abuja was attacked on March 28 by armed bandits, during which at least eight persons were killed and others kidnapped or missing.
This unprecedented attack, attributed to the failure of the authorities to act on intelligence reports, happened only a couple of days after a newspaper reported that unidentified gunmen invaded the Kaduna airport, killing an official on the runway.
I still weep till date for the lives of our people lost on that train, the likes of our beloved doctor,
Chinelo Nwando Megafu, Musa-Lawal Ozigi, Akin Akinsola, Abdu Isa Kofar Mata, Farida Suleiman, Zainab Awal and others who lost their lives in that attack.
The question is how long are we going to continue with this suffering? How long is this killings and massacres going to last? Are we going to fold our hands to watch this situation this way?
If time would permit me I can continue writing over and over again until I will lose interest in writing. The attacks and incidents are countless. Our brothers and sisters are dying, our fathers and mothers are dying, and our children are dying. Our religious and ethnic leaders are dying. This shouldn’t be a tribal or religious fight. This should be our fight. A fight for all. A fight for Nigeria and not a fight for Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba. The people affected are all our people. Nigerians let’s be wise. It is not about the north or the south, it is about us Nigeria. Our political leaders have used us in the past and we shouldn’t allow them to do same. The government has failed us, the system has failed us but we can still revive ourselves.
We can’t continue this way. Major stakeholders in the country should meet and decide on how to contain the spate of insecurity in Nigeria. Political leadership in all regions should also sit up, sideling ethnic and religious differences. We seem to have lost our humanity. It appears our youths are no longer abreast of our cultural and ethical values. Some of them do dirty jobs for politicians. They need to be abreast. Together as one we can do it. We can fight this battle to the end. We can still make this country a better place for everyone.
This calls for a reorientation of the youths. We should avoid making same mistakes we made in the past. Can someone call back Africa China for me once again to ask him some questions? Can someone tap 2face, Eedris Abdulkareem and Oritse Femi for me to come back and organize their fans, educate them, encourage the youths and strive to seek for a better Nigeria instead of hiding under their mother’s skirts. These are celebrities. They can’t be quiet at this rush hour. I task them to come out and voice out.
One thing I believe is that one day this war will end. The people (Leaders) who put us in this mess will shake hands. But what will happen to our mothers, who's sons went to the battlefield to fight for us? The old women will keep on waiting for their martyred sons to return from battle. Some will cry until they will have no more power to cry.
What about the young women (Wives) of the men in the battlefield? The unlucky ones will continue folding under their sheets for their beloved husbands to knock on the door.
And those children, what would happen to them? The innocent lads will be outside waiting to run to the warm hugs of their heroics fathers.
How and who led us to this mess wouldn't matter by then. But who pays for the consequences of their atrocities would be what to think about.
I urge us that we shouldn't allow us to get to that point. And for us to avoid getting to that point we need to stand upright together as one to fight this battle. To fight this people that are trying to knock our heads together. It is neither for me nor for you, neither is it for Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba but for us, for our generation, for our country Nigeria.
We are heading to another political hemisphere, with the general election coming up in 2023, we should exercise extreme caution to avoid witnessing severe violence. The atmosphere is already clouded with political activities and aspirants coming out to declare their intentions for the forthcoming election. But with what am seeing and noticing, am seeing us still betraying ourselves once again. Am seeing us using our very own hands to still choose our own surfer. Am not saying this as a negative impression or bad will for the nation but am just hitting it for us to avoid same mistake.
We should shun ethnicity and religion and vote for a better candidate. Many political parties has denied us our choices through their so called primary elections. Some of our candidates are screened out because of money.
Why can’t we look for our solution elsewhere? Are we to continue looking onto just two political parties? Why can’t we research for other credible candidates aspiring for this position from other parties?
To me well, I think we have other political parties presenting their eligible and credible candidates. We shouldn’t focus our eyes on only two parties leaving other credible candidates in other parties. Let us think twice this time. Get your PVC ready. Go to the polling unit. Vote for your choice no matter the intimidation. Let us make Nigeria great again.
Shun Religion Differences.
Shun Ethnic Differences.
Shun Marginalization.

NNPP has been formed to weaken APC and PDP and am suspecting their alliance with either of the APC or PDP.

But never say never in the game of politics so if NNPP go ahead without any alliance they will succeed in splitting the Kano election and the ruling party will be the one that will lose most in this scenario.

All in all everything is working for the good of the Masses.

Thanks for reminding them, it seems like they have forgotten so soon. They will also lose in the new party they have formed.

Obviously all parties are affected.
Kwakwanso and BAT may be overrating themselves now, with BAT thinking that his name can give him the advantage in Kano. Kwakwanso exists largely in Kano.

IfNNPP and PDP hold out, then APC would have an issue with voters in Kano state.

NNPP is an Islamic party and it can only have 10% impact in the North not anywhere in the South. Let's see how long kwakwaso and Shekarau can tolerate each other.

U guys keep talking as if pdp didn't lose anything when kwankwaso left, at least apc still have incumbent, pdp has nothing left in kano, kwankwaso moved with his supporters(formerly pdp supporters), pdp won't even get 5% of kano votes

My brother, it is clear you don't know Kano politics. Kwankwaso and Shekarau have cult-like followership in Kano. Take incumbency away from Ganduje and see him loose his polling unit. With this development, APC is gone in Kano.

It's like apc is dying out in Kano?

Honestly if this new party can hijack Kano or pull a serious stunt on Ganduje apc then it's a welcome development my prayer is getting nowhere gradually I don't want only pdp and apga as the opposition on state level anymore because I want apc to go n extinct in Nigeria history.

And if God finally want to punish apc I pray they gang up against Tinubu in particular and gang up against Southern president and concensus it to Nothern man again then apc die and gone over.

Below is the 2019 presidential results from kano, now remove kwankwaso from the equation
Of the 1.4m votes by APC in 2019, Buharis godlike status and Shekarau factor contributed a lot, now Buhari won't be on the ballot, Shekarau has teamed up with kwankwaso, lots of foitsoldiers that rigged for APC now in NNPP...

Kano is not enough..will kwankwaso get 9m votes across the country? And I hope you are not banking on votes from the south. No NNPP governor that will do the work for him in other northern states
