It shouldn’t come as a surprise that’s there’s always discrimination in almost everything. In a foreign land like the West, we suffer racial discrimination lowkey. It’s wrong, however that can be understood. But back here in Nigeria, the discrimination and hate is so much.. I want to use Lagos for example. You go to a corporate organization or any kind of Job/opportunity provider where you would be interviewed. The person asks for your name first, you give your first name and it’s in English with no tie to any ethnic group, he’ll ask for your last name with the hope of knowing your ethnic group. If that’s is in English still for example “Jerry Phillips”.. He’ll be forced to ask where you’re from. Since your ID and your accent can clearly tell you’re Nigerian and legally qualified to work, what’s with this “where are you from” question? Can’t one just be Nigerian without being victims of biased employers or job providers?? This goes to show that we’re actually not ONE and were never ONE..
