All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirants of Igbo extraction rose from a meeting on Sunday with a resolution to support anyone among them that clinches the party’s ticket.

The aspirants, including former Imo Governor Senator Rochas Okorocha; former Senate President Ken Nnamani, former Minister of Education (State) Emeka Nwajiuba; former Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu and Mrs. Uju Ken-Ohanenye, met behind closed door at the Maitama home of Okorocha.

Ebonyi Governor Dave Umahi joined the meeting virtually after he had to cut short his visit to Abuja to get relevant documents for his screening in Abakaliki.

The meeting was chaired by Onu.
In a communique at the end of the meeting read by Nnamani, the aspirants agreed to align with the decision of the party, which they said will do the right thing and heed the clamour for power shift to the Southeast.

It reads: “That the President of the federal republic of Nigeria and the All Progressive Congress and Its National Working Committee as well the teaming members of the party are commended by the entire people of the southeast on their avowed commitment to the unity of Nigeria and the inclusion of all parts of Nigeria In the governance architecture of the country.

“That we commend all Nigerians who are committed to the Nigerian project by the whole hearted support of the aspiration of the south east to produce the next Nigerian president in 2023.“That in furtherance of these commitment all aspirants here commit to align with any of the Southeast aspirants that is accepted by and chosen by other Nigerians to fly the APC flag”.

Anything can be achieved when you come together to work in onenes and unity.. It's very glaring that it's the turn of the South east to produce the next president. And I hope that if that ever happens, anyone who emerges shouldn't fail to deliver on the mandate bestowed upon them by the electorates..

The goal is to make life better for the masses, nothing else..

Is too late!
If Igbos were serious about governing Nigeria, they would have started their preparation since 2015.
Other regions especially the south west had done their homework and paid their dues... The South East are simply coming way too late.

People who have allowed ESN & UGM to fester in their region are talking about UNITY of Nigeria. Tomorrow one illiterate People of Biafra will come here and call a tribe UNITY BEGGARS. grin

People who have not been canvassing for delegates are now talking about alliance. Their alliances amount to nut. undecided

Look at this people o!

So the meeting was to talk about supporting whoever emerges and not to plot how one of them will emerge?

I was expecting to read a communique from the meeting this morning containing the name of the consensus candidate they’ve chosen from amongst themselves.

But no, they just said nothing.

Dem never serious sha. Let them not forge a common front to the convention.

Ndi ala!
