The Niger State Police Command have arrested a woman for defrauding over 50 victims of over N10 million under the pretext of helping him to secure a non-existing NECO job.

According to a statement by the Niger State Police Command, on Tuesday, DSP WASIU A Abiodun said the woman, who's the ring leader of the job racketeering syndicate was arrested based on a report that she was spotted at a hotel in Minna.

According to him, she was arrested while documenting some applicants for replacement into the National Examination Council (NECO) Headquarters Minna.

On the receipt of the information that she was at the hotel, Police operatives attached to Intelligence Unit of the Command swung into action and arrested the following suspects:

-Patience Adamu aged 28yrs ‘f’ of Talba Estate Kpakungu, Minna,
-Mathew Samson aged 48yrs ‘m’ of same address,
-Godwin Mathew aged 35yrs ‘m’ of Kaduna State,
-Emmanuel David aged 35yrs ‘m’ of Kaduna State,
-Peter Samuel aged 29 yrs ‘m’ of Kaduna State.

Patience admitted during interrogation that she had contacted about ten unsuspecting members of the public for a job replacement offer at NECO with a payment of #500,000 each since the year 2020.

She further admitted that each of the victims paid half and were expected to pay the balance after receiving an appointment letter.
