And how are you sure that "5 times" worth will be up to the value of the present "quoted price", given the present trend of inflation?

These cars can be exported. The demand is not just local.

Recently I was was looking for connecting rod bearings for a 2009 biturbo V8 diesel ML420 that had the OM629 Engine

I shit you not, I almost paid for this at the quoted price (Check pics) excluding shipping , and I needed a minimum of 2 pairs of bearings. Spent weeks searching and didn't find it anywhere in West Africa.

Finally a guy sold 6 pairs to me at ₦33k he had been keeping them for almost 3years in a bag in his shop.

Point is demand for these cars if kept well is not just local, it's International it's cheaper to ship a car out of Nigeria than Into Nigeria wink

I collect, one of theses days I will display my garage of antiques .

Investment in vehicles like this has advantages.

They can be rented for movie or video shoots for a lot of money.

These are not cars to be driven daily.

I drive mine like once a month.

Cars like this are not for the hustling corrola Geng, it's for men wey don chop bellefull and have 1.6m they are not using wink

Every day that passes this car adds value , in 10years it will be worth possibly 5 times the quoted price.

You didn't understand my post.
Nigerians would rather join the bandwagon and get something else than buying a W123 that is not a vintage for that amount.
I guess we should start with what is qualified to be called a vintage in the 1st place

You still did not answer the question.
If you were to buy 1, which would you buy and WHY?

Your question of buying "one" lacks basis, someone up there has already made it clear to you guys, this types of car is not for the corolla geng, if you can't afford "two" yet, go buy your corolla and rest

Its very simple and straightforward grin

Oh I get your point... And you are right.
We don't have a vintage culture here in this part of the world.
And as for your last question, anything can be vintage from objects, artifacts, memorandum and even places of nature as long as those things are no longer in production, readily available, easily accessible or ancient.

Sincerely, it's a fair deal deal. It's worth it.

If I had 1.6M I'm not using, I'll get the car & just keep it in my garage as a collection. 20 years from now, it will be worth Hundreds of millions.
That car is worth a lot in canada even now( if the mileage is low ). I understand that Nigerians are not big on vintage/classic cars.

Exactly.
Most people here are Toyota loyalists. From Camry to Corolla to Highlander to Sienna to Avalon, etc.
Anything outside toyota is a "NO NO" for most Nigerians no matter the value today or in the future.
