For frontend programmers who work remotely or working for a company or newly employed ,how do you do it like understanding the codes of a multi page web app and how do you consume the apis knowing fully well you are not the one that built the web app

It's simple really unless the codebase is bad, usually there is documentation and standard guidelines to writing code so it's uniform and if you don't understand something you ask

read the documentation of the library used in designing the app.
