Lagos: Over 800 In Attendance As MSSN Ojokoro Area Council Holds Annual Youth Conference



As part of her commitment to eradicate the social vices among Nigerian youths, the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Ojokoro Area Council of Lagos state on Friday organised her annual youth conference.




The youth conference which was tagged 'The Incorruptible Youth' was attended by over over 800 students and youths which was held at Fatigardens beside Cumberland hotel, Shege bus stop in Ojokoro area of Lagos state.


The conference was a positive life changing experience for all students, youths and dignitaries that attended the program.


Findings revealed that the youth conference was filled with thought provoking and highly educative lectures that span through different fields of knowledge which transformed and has greatly helped the participants.


Aside spiritually uplifting lectures, the conference also featured debate competition, match pass, sack race, egg race and many others that were part of the activities of the program which are of benefits to the students and youths.



The students who represented their schools to participate in different segments of the competitions and emerged victoriously were given awards based on their positions.

In the march pass segment for primary schools, Al mimtaz school took first position, Ummul khair Nur &Pry School took second position and Fahmid kiddies academy took third position.



In the march pass segment for secondary schools, Ummul Khair Model School took first position, Ijaye Ojokoro Junior College took second position and The expert college took third position.



In the debate segment for primary schools, Iliam Nur &Pry Sch took first position, Ummul Khair Nur &Primary school took second position and Precious sprog school took third position.

In the debate segment for secondary schools, Ar Rasaq school took first position, The expert college took second position and Ummul Khair Model College took third position.


In the sack race segment for secondary schools, Ummul Khair Model college took first position, Iqrah Comprehensive college took second position and Al mumin School took third position.


In the targeting segment for secondary schools, Al Aliy School took first position, Al mumin school took second position and Ummul khair Model college took third position.


In targeting segment for primary schools, Precious sprog school took first position, Ummul khair Nur &Pry School took second position and Fahmid kiddies academy took third position.


In the bursting the ballon segment, Ar Rahim School took first position, Guided scholars school took second position and Al mimtaz school took third position.


In the egg race segment, Al Aliy school took first position, Al misbah School took second position and Precious sprog took third position.



However, the MSSN Ojokoro Area Council, Engineer Mutahir Arogundade disclosed that the youth conference is at educating and admonishing the youths to desist from social vices.


He said: 'Majority of the crimes are being committed by the Youths. Some youths want to get rich at all cost without waiting patiently for Allah’s time. They learn Yahoo Yahoo just to defraud others. Youths must work hard and stop this desperate act of get- rich-quick syndrome. Money will come at the right time when you wait patiently and work.


'The youths are the vanguard of change. They need to see themselves as such. Hence, we have organized this conference to educate the youth to shun all forms of social vices and be a good ambassador. "



Corroborating, the guest lecturer of the conference, Mr Sheriffdeen Kukoyi who delivered lecture on the theme of the conference 'The Incorruptible Youth', admonished participants to always be morally strong enough to withstand temptations.

'The youths should be morally strong enough to withstand temptations. They must under no circumstances not to be temptated to do bad things. For youths to be an incorruptible person, they need to do four things. They must fear Allah, have good friend, be disciplined and must be obedience to Allah, prophet, parents, teachers and everyone," he said.
