After the creation, God rested on the seventh day. He gave the early Jews the instruction to rest on the Sabbath day being the seventh day of the week in which He rested from the work of creation.
For countless generations after, the Jews have obeyed this instruction until the Christian era. This leaves the question of why the early Church leaders decided to make the Christian day of worship the first day of the week (Sunday) as against the established last day of the week (Saturday).

Well, the only reason Christians worship on Sunday is because Jesus resurrected on Sunday and the early church leaders thought it wise to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord each week rather than stick to old Jewish traditions and ways of worship.

Christianity, although one of the three Abrahamic religions, is not based on Jewish doctrines but is built on the foundation of the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. To this end, it is more fulfilling to celebrate the resurrection each week.

Yet in church on Sunday, you say "Show me the Ancient Paths. Lead me as you did in the days of Old".

Yet, you have abandoned the Old!

Nephi’s Prophecies and Teachings
Part of the religious teachings in the Land of Nephi
Keys to Understanding Isaiah
Nephi admits that Isaiah’s words are hard to understand, this is because they require a knowledge of the manner of Hebrew prophecy.

Isaiah’s words are to be understood plainly through the spirit of prophecy.

Nephi delights in Isaiah’s words, and is informed by his knowledge of Israelite geography and Jewish prophecy.

Nephi prefaces his own prophesies; Isaiah words will be particularly relevant to those in the last days.

The Jews and the Messiah
All civilizations are warned before they are destroyed: Jerusalem will be destroyed by Babylon.

Jerusalem will be freed, and the Messiah will visit the Jews, but he will be rejected and killed, but he will be resurrected.

After the Messiah’s resurrection, Jerusalem will again be destroyed, and the Jews will be scattered.

The Messiah will restore his gospel and gather the people of Israel.

Jesus Christ is the only means by which salvation may be obtained.

The knowlege of the Messiah will be preserved.

Nephi tries to convince people to believe in God and be saved by his grace.

The Law of Moses and the Law of Christ
The Nephites keep to law of Moses as it leads them to Christ.

And, notwithstanding we believe in Christ, we keep the law of Moses, and look forward with steadfastness unto Christ, until the law shall be fulfilled. For, for this end was the law given; wherefore the law hath become dead unto us, and we are made alive in Christ because of our faith; yet we keep the law because of the commandments.

And we talk of Christ,
we rejoice in Christ,
we preach of Christ,
we prophesy of Christ,
and we write according to our prophecies,
that our children may know
to what source they may look
for a remission of their sins.

They're a lot of things the modern church of today can't answer to because we have so compromise our faith and believe and as such we can only give answers out of sentiment and not Fact. It's a shame and a big blow on our part.

If we know what's True, we should always learn to stand by it.

I stand by the Truth. I don't stand by any church or man of God. Peace wink
