Workers at the National Assembly, led by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, have begun an indefinite strike in protest of management's failure to pay a backlog of salaries and allowances. PASAN issued the strike notice on Sunday through its Secretary General, Hammed Awobifa.

In a statement titled 'PASAN Declares Indefinite Strike to Demand Full Implementation of the Revised Conditions of Service (2018),' the association stated that the strike was triggered by three notices to management led by the Clerk of the National Assembly, Amos Ojo, within three weeks.

The statement read, “The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, National Assembly Service Commission and National Assembly (chapters), at its joint congress meeting(sic) of 2nd June, 2022, resolved to embark on an indefinite strike over the failure of the National Assembly management to implement the subsisting MoU jointly signed by NASC and NASS management and PASAN on the 13th of April, 2021.

“PASAN had issued a communiqué on the 28th March, 2022, where it demanded full implementation of the subsisting MoU and the Revised Conditions of Service. It also notified the National Assembly management of 21 days, 14 days and 7 days service of notice for industrial action if by 31st May, 2022, National Assembly Management failed to comply with the congress resolution.”

PASAN listed the items in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the parties as 24 months' arrears of minimum wage/consequential adjustment, of which management paid only 16 months, leaving a balance of eight months and 13 days; and full implementation of the Conditions of Service in the MoU signed in April 2021, of which implementation had begun but was stopped.

“In view of this unfortunate development, the Association is embarking on an indefinite Strike commencing from 12 midnight on Sunday 5th June, 2022,” the statement added.

These are the last days of Buhari.
Expect catastrophies more worse than this.
Each and everyone of us should endeavour to stay safe and pray for God's protection.
The fulanis will carry out more disasters than this knowing fully well their impunity will come to an end as soon as Buhari vacates the seat in 2023 while they themselves hoping Atiku which is another fulani will become president so their immunity will continue.
Please stay safe till 2023 when a new government steps in everything will be over soon

Any Nigerian youth, I mean both undergraduate and graduate, employed , under employed and employed, still supporting any old recycled politician in this country, deserves to be injected with cyanide mixed with H2SO4.

These men care less about the future of this Country, they are busy conducting primaries, when the whole country is on Fire.

Dammmm!!!!

God has left Nigeria, long time ago.
Imagine opening AK 47 hot bullets on congregation of worshippers coming out of the Church after service.

It could be you, me, your brother, your sister.
There's no iota of humanity in the country again

The national assembly that has a yearly budget that runs in billions of naira still ends up owing worker's even after getting their inflated and bogus self-appropriated budgets?

This is purely an institutionalized act of wickedness.
