The nomination of Senator Akon Eyakenyi as Deputy Governorship candidate of the PDP has been described as a perfect choice that meets the acceptability of all well meaning people of Eket Senatorial District and Akwa Ibom State as a whole.

Accordingly, political jobbers have been advised to back off, as no intensity of sponsored media attacks can diminish the soaring profile of the Oron born technocrat who is currently representing the zone in the red chambers.

Several media and interest groups ranging from Eket Senatorial District Media Professionals, Akwa Ibom Integrity Alliance and Eket federal constituency media forum, in separate media statements described Dr Eyakenyi as a hardworking and focused leader who has never been found wanting in any assigned responsibility.


According to the umbrella media group in the senatorial district, Eket Senatorial Media Professionals Forum, “We take this opportunity to profoundly congratulate and rejoice with you over your emergence as the running mate and deputy governorship candidate to Pst. Umo Eno, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP gubernatorial candidate for 2023 election in Akwa Ibom State.

“Your selection as the deputy governorship candidate comes at the crucial time for Akwa Ibom State, Eket Senatorial District and Oron Federal Constituency to strengthen and deepen the democratic values of equity and fairness, boost equal gender participation in governance.

“You have worked so hard and created the necessary advantage to acquit yourself before the leader of the party, His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel, the party’s standard bearer Pastor Umo Eno, and the entire leadership of Akwa Ibom State chapter of the PDP”, Eket Senatorial Media Professionals asserted.

The groups insisted that Dr Eyakenyi’s track record as Minister of the Federal Republic, Commissioner in the State Executive Council, Board Chairman, as well as her current position as Senator of the Federal Republic, have projected her into a hot bride for the state Number Two position

The groups commended Governor Udom Emmanuel and Pastor Umo Eno, and all critical stakeholders of the PDP on the decision to choose Mrs Akon Eyakenyi and wished the party success in the forth coming elections.
