Total population of Europe = 748 millions

Number of countries = 44

Total number of ethnic groups in Europe = 87

Total number of Languages = 200

Total population of Nigeria = 216 millions

Total number of ethnic groups = 371

Total number of Languages spoken = 525

It's not a must to be governed by one central government.

Option 1: We can have independent regions with an administrative center if we must remain one in peace and harmony.

What do you think?

One thing I have come to discover is that most countries in Europe represent major ethnic group.

They had to create new countries for almost all their major ethnic groups, this is why you see a country of just 300,000 people speaking less than 3 languages.

This has brought about peace and less conflict. Before now Europe used to fight alot of wars/crisis until they figured this out.

Can this be tried in Nigeria?

Option 2 : Any ethnic group with a population up to 5 million should become a country on its own!

We are just too distant in thoughts, culture, understanding and idealogy to remain one without conditions.

There's no angel that can make Nigeria better under the current system.

We must approach our situation differently.

UK with just a population of 67 million (2016) have 4 independent countries.

Why are we just too rigid and stubborn? If something is not working, a sensible set of people is expected to try other methods. Can't we think purposely?

What is wrong with regional system of government?

India and Pakistan were once one country but they parted ways for better governance after struggling for years due to their differences, now both are military powers.

Malaysia and Singapore were once together but parted ways.

Now, both are doing well with Singapore now one of the richest and most developed countries in the world.

Stupidity is the problem my brother, African leaders don't know how to create wealth, all they know is selling natural resources, and sadly the average African, especially here in Nigeria is as clueless and stupid as the leaders. They think oil is how to generate money, they won't let the south south and south east go.
Japan, Germany and lots of successful and rich countries have no oil and little to no natural resources, yet they are doing far better than most countries who have them. Divide the country or allow the states and regions control their resources and watch innovation, hard work and productivity thrive.

But every region is represented in the central Govt, so what is stopping the regions being cheated from breaking away starting from the top?

They are benefiting from the current system, so they care less about the rest of the people in their regions.

Nigeria should have at least 6 independent countries, we are underperfoming in this current setting.

I didn't say some regions don't have representatives in the national government, and I didn't also say southern leaders care about their people. I said stupidity is the problem, dividing or devolving power will benefit all regions because it will make them more productive and innovative. A few senators or house of rep members can't make much changes, you need majority or great power to make changes.

Alright, I get your point.

Every single politician right now is enjoying this system and wouldn't want it changed.

The people that can change the system are not amongst the current politicians.

This is the best way, the only way to move this country forward.

If "one Nigeria " is to be maintained... this is the only way to achieve it.

But sadly the "invisible hands" of politics, the northern oligarchs will not allow it to happen as they own most of the oil wells in the south

The northern oligarchs as you called them are just fronts for the established west.

An underdeveloped Nigeria is a blessing to them.

Another thing though, its not just the northern oligarchs, they're in all regions of Nigeria. Once you agree with the interest of their master (The west), they pull you in.

Those who disagreed either got killed, damaged publicly or never allowed to smell the position.

Very intriguing perspective.

One thing is very clear.. the current structure of the country is a no no...

Nigeria have too many ideological differences to remain in the current structure.

The current structure wasn't created to work for Nigerians, it was created to work for those who came together to forge what we call Nigeria.

The constitution you use wasn't put together by up by
representatives of all regions/tribes/groups in Nigeria.

Even the people that can change the system when they enter nigeria politics will hardly want to change the status quo

Nigeria politics is too lucrative and indulging

Have you heard anyone talk about biafra or odua rep in national assembly?
