News making the rounds at Blantyre street, Abuja which hosts the APC secretariat suggests that many bigwigs of the party are currently mulling defections to the opposition party after the APC primary.
Most recent defection that hit the ruling party was the defection of the Senate leader Yahaya Abdullahi to the PDP.

Political pundits believe more defections will hit the ruling party before the end of the years, as politicians align and re-align based on their interests and the interest of the followers especially in the northern part of the country.
