What Nigerians don't understand is the fact that Nigerian Political Party Primary Election Convention is strictly a business transaction that usually goes to the highest bidder.



In Nigeia, Party Primary Elections is purely business not for the masses.


Delegates are selected by Governors and given to loyalists as compensation for being loyal to the State party leadership. In some States, once you are selected as a national delegate, you will be told to forget any other political ambition within the state because you have been settled.


Settled in the sense that they expect that you will use your delegate status or vote to make money for yourself and that's why delegates usually go with the highest bidder and not to their closest brother.



Also, Nigerians have been rendered poor such that even those earning good salary and those currently occupying political posts are still scared of their tomorrow due to volatile nature of Nigeria's economy.


This has made Nigerian politics to be solely driven by moneybags which politicians like Tinubu carries.



It is an unfortunate situation for Nigeria and Nigerians.


And what Nigerians don't know or know but don't care about is that whatever amount a politician spends trying to get to power, he or she will recoup multiple times before thinking about communal developments.


Its a pathetic situation for Nigeria, and only an awaken youth force can change things gradually. Let it start with 2023 election.

In fairness, I don't think it is the Tinubu's camp that is getting cocky here. Rather, this is a journalist's view and journalists are not particularly infallible especially when they have to rely on hearsays.

It is given in the corridors of intelligence, a guy that observes more than he talks is often ASSUMED TO BE INTELLIGENT. This assumption is often false. The same error is often found in most companies corporate progression where boses seek weak subordinate to replace him in the corporate structure as he progress.

In the USA, every presidential election is preceded by three programme presidential elections debates where each presidential candidate is given opportunities to speak to the public, be question by the public and listened to by the public. Therefore, every member of the public in the USA can assess the candidate and deside to vote for or against. In Nigeria, bread paper was presented as certificate and accepted by the public. Biggest shame. I just don't know why the Nigerian state can not follow this American political practice to presidential election debates.

It is not complicated. First, Tinubu na your mate? Nobody understands Nigeria and Nigerians more than Asiwaju. He knows all the pressure points of Nigerian politics to a tee. He was just pressing buttons throughout the primaries. Secondly, some powerful Northern governors were for Tinubu and those who were neutral insisted the ticket must go to the South. At that point, all the shenanigans from Adamu was just a waste of time.
