When Mr. Ebere decided to embark on his first building project, in order to avoid mistakes common with first timers he chose to engage the services of professionals in the construction industry.

To begìn with, Mr. Ebere employed the services of a highly recommended architect who provided him an architectural drawings to his great delight. It was just as he had envisaged.
The civil engineers did great justice to the plans with the help of experienced artisans. The construction process sailed smoothly from the beginning till the end to the satisfaction of Mr Ebere and his wife who frequently visited the site throughout the period.
The five bedrooms duplex was completed in due time with interior and exterior wall Screeding neatly done by trusted artisans who specialise in this aspect. Thereafter, the painting was done using premium quality paint, one of the best money can buy.
Just as the painting was been completed, the pandemic broke out otherwise known as COVID19. This happened to be one of the defining moments in the anal of modern human history.
Everything came to a stand still making it impossible for Mr Ebere and his beautiful family to tidy up and move into their newly built home. This situation continued for months until the imposed lockdown was eased.
On that fateful Saturday afternoon when Mr. Ebere visited his site which was already completed and duly painted, he was greeted by an ugly sight. Lo and behold the painted walls was filled with surface cracks all over. He was greatly displeased and quickly summoned the contractors and sub contractors. Great arguments ensued as to what could be responsible.
Blames were thrown at the nature of plastering sand that was used, others said it was the type of water that was used in mixing the cement.
Aspersions was also casted towards the screeder. He was accused of not using the appropriate mixture for his Screeding which led to the manifestation of the surface cracks.

What can we say could be responsible for the plight of Mr Ebere? Is it the nature of plaster sand used? Is it the Water? Is it the Screeding? All the above and even more can be culpable.

THE BOTTOM LINE
If you have built or lived in Lekki-ajah area of Lagos and its environ, surface cracks in already screeded and beautifully painted buildings will be a common sight or experience. It is however not limited to this area alone as such sights is commonplace. This incidence is usually a resultant effects of many factors such as plastering sand, cement-sand ratio, salty water, harsh weather effects etcetera.
Screeding which is suppose to be the remedy in this case have failed most time to do so due to the type of materials used. The traditional system of Screeding involves the artisans mixing cement, glue and low quality emulsion paint otherwise known as Screeding paint. There are 2 factors that militate against this type of Screeding:
1. Poor or inconsistent material ratio
2. Poor mixing
The above 2 factors are one and the same. With poor material ratio and mixing, the Screeding mixture lacks the needed binding power that is required to prevent or repair surface cracks.

But there is a solution!
Here is introducing you to the NewVista Acrylic Wall Screeding Putty.
