Mainly for those starting de business
This business is very lucrative in the sense that
1. People eat to live
2. They are light food and already processed so the cost of preparation is relatively low
3. Children these day tends to feed more on cereals and beverages than the usual food.
4. Most working class parent tends to stock their home with cereal, most especially beverages so they can get to take in "something light" ( now u can see where my business name came from) before leaving for work.
7. The packaging material used in packaging those on the shelf in a supermarket or provision store, make the goods expensive but in this case the packaging material is relatively cheap. For instance a paint of cornflakes is 1kg and I sell for 2400 but 500g of cornflakes is 2400(source: jumia you online store) this is because the producer would consider the cost of production and packaging material so u can see that it's more or less that we are paying the same amount for the packaging material and content...
Materials needed to start this business
1. Measuring cups (custard plastic (1 paint) tomatoes tin( ½ paint) and derica tin (¼ paint)
2. Nylon (transparent) or Zip lock
3. Labelling (it's not compulsory but it makes customers differentiate your brand from others. But it most not be too expensive
4. Sealer: to seal ur product
5. Kitchen scale: to know the weight of your products so u can compare with the packaged one before giving a price
Factors to consider when venturing into a business
1. Location: your base determine the type of business u go into.. but cereal and beverages cannot be overemphasize because there is no home that doesn't consume this product. Most especially families with little kids.
2. product: The type of product you sell is also a factor to look out for..in this lockdown period all people are after is food .so going into this business is gonna be a hot cake because of the cost (low) and quantity
3. cost of transporting : the cost of transporting the product should no be so high that the profit will be minimal. That is why it's advisable to buy in bulk( large quantity) so the cost of transporting would be shared on each goods.
4. Accessibility: the good must be available on demand.
5. Durability: how durable is the product
6. Potential consumer: who do you want to sell to ,how do u intend selling
7. Profit: it must be highly profitable..
8. Rent: cost of getting a shop
