So many young people are aspiring to school in the U.S with the help of full-ride scholarship, but unfortunately they are less informed.

This thread was created to ask questions in regards to scholarships/funding for international students.Experts in the house can guide and help us.

Do you know what a full-ride scholarship means? It means full tuition, room, board, books, insurance, flight, and personal expenses. Simply put, every expense, including a stipend to cover for personal expenses. What school will cover all of these? Try Harvard, Yale, and MIT - you must show proof of severe need. I doubt they will cover every damn thing, except maybe Harvard. Full-ride scholarships are typically not awarded by the schools, they are usually awarded by specific scholarship organizations, such as the Rhodes Trust that awards a full-ride to attend the University of Oxford through the Rhodes Scholarship. These types of programs are usually extremely competitive. Try applying for scholarships like the Opportunity Fund organized by EducationUSA - I doubt they cover flights and personal expenses though. Another one is the MasterCard scholarship for specific partner universities. You could also try the Knight Hennessy scholarship for Stanford or the Fullbright opportunity. Grad students have an upper hand than undergrads because if they could get grad assistantships, scholarships like these could cover the rest. The best bet for undergrads would be to first aim for their university merit scholarship (if the school offers one), then add these types of external scholarships to culminate in a full ride. Good luck!
