1. In 2001 an employee in Prapakorn Oil warehouse, Thailand was unhappy because her boss’ nags constantly.

She got fed up with the incessant complaints and decided to the abolish the whole business by setting the warehouse on fire.

What she damaged was worth £900,000.

2. On April 2009, 17-year-old Brittanee Drexel begged her parents to let her go on a spring break trip with her friends to Myrtle Beach. They ultimately forbade her from going, but Drexel went anyway — and three days later, she vanished forever.
One South Carolina prison informant confessed that he witnessed Brittanee Drexel in the torturous hours leading up to her death. He claimed that she had been abducted, gang-rap*ed, and shot before being thrown into an alligator pit.

A registered sex offender in the region was arrested in May 2022 on allegations of murder, kidnapping, and first-degree criminal sexual conduct. A week later, Drexel's bones were discovered in a forested area in Georgetown, some 33 miles (53 kilometers) from where she went missing.

3. Ben Stacy shocked the medics when he was born with blue skin in 1975. It appeared he descended from an extraordinary inbred family with a history of skin discoloration, the Fugate family. An isolated family from Troublesome Creek,Kentucky, US. The family was notable for marrying themselves.

The Fugate family story started in 1820 when French orphan Martin Fugate and his wife Elizabeth Smith got together.

Martin had a very rare genetic defect called methemoglobinemia, which affects just 0.0035% of the population globally, the disorder makes the blood not to carry enough oxygen around the body. The blood turns brown, meaning that white patient’s skin can turn blue and their lips purple.

When martin and Elizabeth had seven children, four of them were born with blue skin due to the recessive gene methehemoglobinemia. As the gene was recessive the condition wouldn’t have affected future children had they not married within the family.

4. On May 12, 1987, laborers in the Dutch village of Yde were dredging a bog when they came upon a sight so horrific it scarred their souls and sent them running.

A mummified corpse emerged from the dense peat, bearing a gnarled expression of agony. The body was hideously deformed, with a noose still wrapped around its neck and fiery red hair still clinging to the half-rotted skull. The workers believed they’d found the devil himself and fled, then returned and frantically reburied the corpse, leaving her for the village mayor to uncover nine days later.

But perhaps more shocking than the mummy’s appearance was the fact that, though the corpse looked fresh, experts soon determined that it was actually 2,000 years old and had been naturally preserved by the peat.

Known as the Yde Girl, this 16-year-old was killed by stabbing and strangulation sometime between 54 B.C. and 128 A.D. And though some believe she was ritualistically sacrificed, no one knows exactly why she was murdered to this day.

5. "Friends, I shall ask you to be as quiet as possible. I don’t know whether you fully understand that I have just been shot." Those were the first few words of Roosevelt as he addressed the crowd.

On October 14, 1912, Theodore Roosevelt was shot by a saloon owner just before he was about to make a speech in Milwaukee. Ironically enough, his speech was part of the reason why he survived, because his 50-page remarks had been tucked in the breast pocket of his coat where the bullet hit.

Roosevelt's aides pleaded with him to go to the hospital, but he insisted on finishing his speech before a stunned audience. Though he said that he would keep his remarks short, he ended up speaking for about 90 minutes. Finally, Roosevelt agreed to go to the hospital — but only because he was done talking. What a man!
