The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested persons alleged to have engaged in vote buying in the Ekiti governorship election.

The EFCC is part of security agencies deployed to monitor the election.

Parading some of the suspects at the Oke Ori Omi Area Division of the Nigerian Police Force, the suspects were said to have been caught with monies allegedly used to induce voters, an act the EFCC officials say were carried out surreptitiously.

The EFCC thereafter proceeded to burst another residence where some persons were caught with a book containing details of voters of certain voting area.

Votes buying should be penalized, INEC must enforce electoral laws, and the house of representatives, must ensure the electoral acts, includes penalties for erring political party and politicians.

Good, one would think the massive enrolment for PVC was in the interest of democracy, the truth is majority of voters want to cash out having witnessed the purported deligate inducement that tranpired during APC and PDP primaries. At least these ones in the media would be used as scape goats.

More men should be stationed in every poling unit with video evidence before arrest. This will enable the people choice to be the winner
