Happy Sunday nairalanders. I just thought of sharing this testimony of how God saved me from spending the rest of my life in jail. Sometime around 2006, I had gone to retake the May/June SSCE exam in another area in Kwara State. I went with my brother and about two other family friends. I was still a teenager full of life. There, I met a young lady like me and we became close then. You know in such environment, everyone wants to feel 'belonged'. However, this lady told me then that she had a boy friend, so we were just close. She had come from Lagos to sit for WAEC exams in Kwara and she was an only girl of her parents, who were divorced already. Usually, most of us would travel back to Ilorin on weekendsa and then return to the place on Sunday. Few days to the end of the WAEC exam, she said she was traveling to Ilorin to spend the weekend with her in-laws (the parents of her only brother's fiancé). Myself and the other guys too were returning to Ilorin for the weekend. By the time we got to Ilorin, it was very late and where she was going was quite far from where house was. So, she pleaded to pass the night in our house. I had to discuss with my parent and my mum reluctantly agreed.
She spent the night and then went to her in-laws house the following day. By Sunday, we all got back to the school. Our exams were ending on Wednesday that week. On Monday, we wrote an exam and we all gathered as usual to talk about the exam. Shortly after that, she started complaining of headache. We gave her paracetamol, since there was no hospital in the village. Few hours later, her case started getting serious, with clear signs that it was more of a spiritual attack. We had to immediately inform the school principal, but he wasn't proactive. We found a way of taking her to a hospital in a nearby town and after few hours of her admission, the hospital asked us to take her away. To cut the long story short, the lady died. At that point, the whole community was thrown into mourning and confusion. Breaking the news to her in-laws was very tough. Nobody had any idea of where they were staying. I however remembered her telling me about the place, though not in details. I was one of the students who followed a teacher to take her corpse to Ilorin. After that incident, I was sick for 2 weeks. When my mum heard about her death, she couldn't believe it. Anytime I remeber the sad event, I ask myself what if she had died in our house, and we could have been sent to jail because of it. Good she did not die in your house... Naija policemen know how to punish the innocent to extort money, even when they know you are innocent.

You for dey wear either green or blue top and shorts by now...your good family would have received bad names.


And our judicial system will not help matters...you would have spent a good time of your life in jail before the truth comes out.
