fyneguy: No, the investment actually appreciated. What depreciated was the value of the all mighty Dollar. He made an investment of N1B+ when dollar was N155/$. Today the investment has doubled but dollar is N600/$. Compare the figures in Naira and you’ll see that it appreciated but compare them in dollar at today’s rates and it looks like it depreciated. Obi doesn’t control the dollar or inflation! 4 Likes

this is same thing that happened to Dangote, he invested in naira, so why give the value in dollars. Our fallen naira value can only be blamed for it. those earning N125K then, at exchange rate of N125/usd , it was $1000 but now, those earning N125k, earn 204usd per month, no thanks to those that have been managing our economy. 1 Like |

His investment was made in naira , so they should give us equivalent value now in naira. If all Nigerians should compare their naira savings account in Naira years back in dollar values to current values in dollar terms, we will all have heart attack by now 1 Like |
