The development of science and technology cannot actually free humanity from the obligation to ask the ultimate existential questions. And it spur us to face the most painful and sometimes, decisive struggles of those of the heart and the question of moral conscience. The contemporary man tends to have the greater need for the inner-self as well as out-self in order to know God and himself.
It is true that with such knowledge, we can nurture the sense of dignity and respect. It is through this knowledge we can also know the true meaning of the value of life and work in tandem with the sense of true freedom, justices and peace. One of the Christian truths, is not about ideology but in the recognition that without any iota of doubt, that it is the changing of the social and political reality in favor of man that cannot be confined to any rigid structure.
Therefore, the need for a deep reflection for a constant re-affirmation of the transcendental that encompass the dignity of the human person. In the evolutionary salvific journey of man, there has been numerous example of the advocate of a genuine emancipation of humanity. The emancipation that inspire, not a passive acceptance, but in the authentic and firm resolve to work effectively in the way of truth in order to free man once and for all from any form of oppressive and violence forces that is raging so assiduously and the shackle of poverty of our time.
Through such resolve, we can return humanity to his dignified platform of existence, through which he exercises his full right in the scheme of things. Although, there is the gospel prosperity talks of material abundance as a sign of divine favor of which, though, what they seems to be silent about is the very purpose of this material abundance in the life of man.
Because, at this point, it has becomes a moral issue in particular, when there are bunch of haggard and hungry folks of the like of Lazarus hanging around us. Of course, it must be said, that this has become a moral deficiency on the contemporary setting of which majority become deprived in the mix of plenty. The same is true that it is all about the issue of self-centered attitude and distraction from the very issue of the heart and value of which the existence of man is accountable.

But there must be a shift of value system that asks for a balance and moderation without drifting either extreme in the quest to positively regulate our perspective of the current system. It must be the shift of value to balance our material well-being with that of the spiritual well-being and indeed, the self and others without recourse to the extreme as the current extremist nature of things seems to depict.

It must be observed, however, that in the 18th century, there arose a movement of the intellectual thought in Europe. And their sole aim was a rejection of the external authority as they enthrone what come to be regarded as personal subjective judgment. Although, they were known to be called enlightenment and was celebrated in their intellectual individualism. But their main objective was also to seek to banish any idea of living by repository of wisdom beyond one’s own intellect.
This post-Christian era also known as the age of reason or secular culture, was with the view that any rational being must be able to work out the truth about life for themselves, which seems to rain supreme at the time. However, it was not without an element of misconception, and if you like, a misplaced concept, because it take for granted all matter of basic belief, i.e. the strong feeling that exist or true in every individuals. The outcome of this was an outlook that appears to control the opinion makers and information disseminators of the time. The consequences of this were a sort of anti-Christian, a type of mindset that seems to move against the very value and dignity of man, peace and justices, and indeed, the interest of the collective wellbeing.

The reality is that, for any given society to truly have a human face and take its rightful place in the scheme of things and look to the future with confidence, it is necessary and imperative for an orientation of man from within, which implies healing of wounds and achieving a genuine purification of the heart. Such heart, contaminated by negative past memories of mutual misunderstanding and trauma to create a space for the act of forgiveness.
The same is true that there is no darkness of error that can totally act as a replacement of man in the scheme of things in the light of his creator. In the depth of man’s heart remain the yearning for the absolute truth and a thirst to attain the full knowledge and understanding of his creator. But the reality is that he must be disposed to the grandeur and the sublime thought of the Divine mind to fill him with the inspiration and comprehension of his real place in the scheme of things. And of cause, which also, implies a genuine relationship and love with our fellow being.
But unfortunately, this genuine relationship and love tend to remain in the radar of the greatest deceptions in the contemporary setting. A sort of an illusion that one get everything one wants, if you like, happiness without God. The same is true, that it is also an illusion that we can find authentic freedom by excluding moral truth and personal responsibility. But responsibility is not always a choice we make, rather, it is an inevitable act that happens before we ever consider any such possibility. In the past decade we must have witness an ever increasing emphasis on the need to develop a new ways of doing thing, if you like, in what may be termed a leaning culture. Which could be the only way to sustain a competitive advantage over a long term, in an increasing complex and turbulent environment of which the contemporary setting have no an immediate answer. The learning culture is characterized by a continues learning from experience and history, and indeed, by learning to learn. The basic assumption on the belief of a learning culture that can be described along two dimensions which are that of flexibility with regard to external environment and commitment for change. And the flexibility with regard to environment, often act as a facilitator and ease, in uncertain situation where there are tolerance of ambiguity and functional orientation. But as regard to commitment to change, it has to do with the sharing of responsibilities and information and support with a sense of participation toward a change of mindset-for solidarity.
The shared basic assumption in the contrast of flexibility with regard to external environment is but the rigidity in the status quo. While the basic assumption that contrast commitment is but a parochial orientation. But the integration of these concepts did allow for the development of a model of preparedness for a genuine transformation. But the learning culture becomes the model that reflects the basic assumption of flexibility and commitment with a disposition and wiliness to decisively deal with any form of transformation without procrastination in the face of any evolving reality.
