No Child Should Lack Quality Education – Osinbajo by Ebunoluwa2020(f): 7:41am On Jun 24, 2022
The Vice-President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has said no child should lack access to quality education or opportunities for realising their potential.

Osinbajo who gave the 10th-year memorial keynote address of Oba Oladele Olashore in Lagos and was represented by Mr Dapo Akinosun, said there were over 100 children without prior access to quality education, adding that they were now knowledgeable because of the exposure gained, as beneficiaries of scholarships from Olashore.

He said, ‘‘No child, anywhere in the world, should have to go to bed hungry. None should have to be uncertain of their future because they have no access to quality education or opportunities for realizing their potential. And it falls on all of us. Those privileged with positions of leadership or authority in the public or private sectors, and those privileged with access to wealth.’’

Late Oba Olashore was the founder of the Olashore International School, Osun State.

In her remarks, the Chairperson of OISA Foundation, Mrs Olapeju Sofowora, said Olashore used all his resources and influence to get things done at the National, State, local and community levels particularly in his domain, llokoIjesha, where he lived in the last 17 years before he passed on.

‘’The decision to have a memorial lecture in honour of our late father, is to enable us highlight and bring to the fore the urgent need for us to collaborate and cooperate with one another to serve our fatherland as our late father demonstrated,’’ she added

Chairman, Fate Foundation, Mr Fola Adeola, who gave the 10th year memorial lecture titled, ‘Public service as the best form of service: The example of Oba Oladele Olashore, said, ‘‘Oba Olashore cared about education, particularly, quality secondary education, and, beyond just caring, he set up a secondary school that offers scholarships to young people who would otherwise have been unable to afford such an education. In their lives, and the lives of everybody each of those children goes on to impact, he defies death.’’

A former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Joseph Sanusi, said, “We worked together in CBN and we became friends. Oba Olashore was a good leader, he provided excellent leadership. ‘’

And Yoruba Muslims rejected this intellectual for someone who wanted to feed our youths with agbado and cassava?

Yoruba Muslims are really dragging the intelligent south west back.

Yoruba Christians should wake up or risk being minority in the next 60 years.
they told you religion doesn't matter in southwest but they're making and stamping religious moves all over yoruba land.
they're solidifying their moves.
they told you that Muslim/Muslim ticket doesn't matter but can a Yoruba Muslim accept it if vice versa?
a day will come when they'll conquer all southwest state and convert Obas to Emir and tell you that it doesn't matter.
who would have thought that the same people that told you that religion doesn't matter in South West will drag hijab crises upto supreme Court.
now even mission owned school will have hijabs littering around its environment.
but trust me if it's other way round even non Muslim will be compelled to wear hijab.
what's their next move especially if they succeed with Muslim/Muslim ticket?
maybe implementing Sharia law in Yoruba land and enforcing it to the core.
it's time Yoruba Christians wake up.
you and these guys are not one as you think.
they made you to hate igbos because igbos are the only people seeing through their deceits.

wake up real Omoluabis and fight for your land from invaders
real Yorubas lagbaa

all of a sudden Nigeria will need a man like Tinubu to fix Buhari's mess.
all of a sudden after 7 years they've now realised that Buhari's government is now a failure since campaigning for continuity of their party's failure means mocking Nigeria.
all of a sudden buhari is no longer the best thing to happen to Nigeria after cat fish pepper soup.
all of a sudden they're now Buhari's critics just to project and tested failure within the same party.
because how will they explain to Nigerians that their party is the cause of their problems.
how can they explain to Nigerian youths sitting at home that their party is the reason they're rotting at home when they're supposed to be in the school.
how will they explain to Nigerians that their party is the cause of ravaging insecurities we found ourselves today and that their presidential candidate will be recruiting 50 million youths into the army to feed them agbado and cassava.
how can they explain to Nigerians that their party has failed them in every aspects.

of course they have no explanation for all these hence their only hope is to go tribal and play their usual old tribalism and tribal card tactics.
but you as a citizen of this country ask yourself this question.
will tribalism better our economy to at least prior to 2015?
will tribalism end insecurity and make everyone safe?
will tribalism send our children back to school and equip our schools.
will tribalism make life better for an average citizen?

so after pushing for a failure to be President what next?
when the suffering comes will it select other tribe and leave yours?
today all Nigerians are suffering but Buhari got the highest votes from the North.

dear fellow citizens it's time to look into these people's eyes and tell them to go to hell with their division tactics.
at a point all major tribes never believed in Nigeria but today they made it look like they love Nigeria most but keep presenting bad leaders ruining this country.
it's time to say enough is enough.

THE YOUTHS ARE COMING!

I would have loved this guy so much if he had resigned from this evil govt as a proof that he hasn't been in support of the govt's evil policies. No matter how good he is, no matter what he says,no matter his good heart and intentions, he will always be remembered as being a two-term vice-president in the most evil and vision-less govt in the history of Nigeria.

Education is the best gift you can give to a child and it is also the bedrock of economy development. Well said PYO. We know you are a good representative of Nigeria anywhere anytime. I pray for more wisdom for your administration to make more impactful policies.

Says a professor who in his administration as the vice president has the highest rate of ASUU strike, never championed for free education. Also collaborated with the president in making false promises that they will feed young pupils in the whole federation.

Re: No Child Should Lack Quality Education – Osinbajo by DameAnnah(f): 10:43am On Jun 24, 2022
The fundamental essence of giving birth is to train, that is education. As a nation, it is the constitutional prerogative of the government to provide means to acquire meaningful education to the citizenry.

These are what Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, is standing for, and mobilising colleagues in government in Nigeria and Africa as a whole to buy into.

This is the type of leadership we require in our country and the continent, and even globally. If leaders are responsible to their call, things will be OK with our world.

Let's learn from Osinbajo's good example.
