Ambode now wanted to replace this arrangement with a foreign one which only him and his wife would have benefitted. He took food away from party leaders and they told Tinubu they wanted him out. Tinubu pled for him, but Tinubu is only relevant on account of the party leaders support. Lose them, he's done. Tinubu could not save Ambode.

Ambode was a good governor who could not get his politics right. That was not Tinubu's fault.

Since he wanted his son Seyi Tinubu to be the successor after Ambode, why didn’t Seyi Tinubu come in next instead of Sanwolu

The answer to this question is very simple: They were all Tinubu's lackeys.
If one should blame Ambode, it is probably for his inability to "Out-agbero" Tinubu in Lagos.
If Ambode were a Wike, he would have ran Tinubu out of Lagos.

From your comment I’d like to assume you’re APC member in Lagos or very close associates of those thieves.
Ambode wasn’t a saint , but far better than those that are criticizing him,including baba smuggler.
Ambode actually made the public treasury hard for them to dip into.
Ambode was trying to Cut every Tinubu thuggery structure,those structures are what Tinubu use to checkmate anyone.
Every king and Bale in Lagos state are part of that structure.
