LESTER B. PEARSON SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW
Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships will cover four years of tuition, books, incidental fees, and complete living expenses. The scholarship is only available to first-year undergraduate students at the University of Toronto. Around 37 students will be designated Lester B. Pearson Scholars each year.

To become a Pearson Scholar, you must receive a nomination from your school and apply to the University of Toronto for undergraduate studies. Inquire with your school about the possibility of getting nominated. You will be provided with a dedicated, secure link to the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship application once you have been nominated and applied to the University of Toronto.

ELIGIBILITY
Pearson Scholars are students who have excelled academically and creatively and are recognised as leaders in their schools. They have the potential to make a positive impact on the world in the future. Their variety of interests, intellectual vitality, and impact on the lives of their school and community set them apart from their peers who may have similar academic achievements.

To be considered eligible for the Pearson International Scholarship, you must:

Be an international student (i.e. a non-Canadian requiring a study permit);
Be in your senior year of high school or have graduated no earlier than June 2022.
Commencing your studies at the University of Toronto in September 2023 (students already attending post-secondary studies will not be considered. Additionally, students commencing their studies in January 2023 at other institutions will not be considered).

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS | APPLY FOR THE HERMENOW ACCELERATOR PROGRAMME

Here is an excellent opportunity for social entrepreneurs to broaden their influence by enrolling in the HerMeNow Accelerator programme.

This virtual programme was created for women-led social entrepreneurs committed to creating effective solutions in culture, attitude, and education. It is open to countries in the MENA + African regions.

Through a three-month programme supported by Bloom’s project-based learning methodology and top-notch support, social entrepreneurs will receive assistance in developing growth strategies for their enterprises.

The accelerator programme is being implemented by Bloom, which is a platform that helps organizations and individuals boost their influence and growth through result-driven tools and programmes.

Bloom is in partnership with Stardust Concept ESG and Impact Division to increase entrepreneurship opportunities, education, and momentum for 10 women-led social enterprises across the MENA+Africa region.

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

Interested social enterprises should be past the point of product/market fit.
Participating enterprises should be at the revenue generation stage and have significant user and/or product traction.
They should have plans to expand their teams
They should be commercially viable in the long term
The participating social enterprises should be inclusive and responsible.
All enterprises should be located in MENA + Africa (including Armenia)
SELECTED SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS STAND TO GET:
A grant of $2,000 to help with costs and potential effects.
Training, mentoring, and other support will be provided during the course of the three months long programme.
Lifetime access to Bloom’s resources and HerMeNow’s network. These include entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, alumni, and staff.
The opportunity to pitch to potential investors at the Demo day event.
