The governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade has given approval for 2022 Calabar Carnival to hold, GRASSROOT REPORTERS reports. The approval was given today, June 28, 2022 during the Cross River State Executive Council meeting held at Government House, Calabar. Africa’s biggest street carnival, Calabar Carnival, was suspended due to the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020. Speaking on what to expect from this year’s carnival, the state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Eric Anderson said: “We have had a two year hiatus so we will be coming up with a bumper carnival program”.
