According to former Jigawa State governor Alhaji Sule Lamido, Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike has every right to be irate about failing to realize his presidential ambitions while running on the PDP platform.

This was stated by Lamido, a PDP leader, in an exclusive interview with Vanguard on Wednesday.



At the special convention held on May 28, 2022, at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Wike came in second place to former vice president Atiku Abubakar.

According to rumors, Wike is upset because Atiku chose Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State to be his running partner on June 16, 2022.

Lamido responded to these events by saying: “He is justified in being upset about not achieving his own personal interest or objective, but once again, that is what leadership means. He is a member of the party, and the party is not against him.

“Whatever may have been the reason for his inability to attain his interest, should not be regarded too seriously at a personal level. The party is his home, his own group, and his own support.”

Now, Wike resembles a boiling pot. He is so enraged because those close to him prevent him from seeing clearly.

Given his success as the governor of the oil-rich state, Wike was a valuable asset to the PDP and a front-runner who had etched his name in glory, according to Lamido.



He added that the party needed to save the governor of Rivers State and keep him around for the long term, but he blamed unnamed people close to the governor for fueling the embers of animosity.

Wike is one of the best materials and a priceless asset for the PDP, he declared. He is the obvious heir to the throne if we win (in 2023) since he possesses the necessary qualities, aura, charm, charisma, and age.

His deadliest enemies are those who surround him, whom he believes to be his own buddies. They are adding more wood to the fire since it is a fact that he will discover later. They ought to be taking out all the wood from the fire by now so that the pot can cool.

“PDP is a family, as I’ve been saying. Expectations were raised before the primary election, but some of them were not realized. Thus, it is normal for someone to respond. That makes sense to me. The PDP has benefited greatly from Governor Wike’s strong leadership, success as governor of his own state, and strong support of the party.

“However, the PDP created him. He is someone we must protect, and we must deliver him from his own rage,” Lamido continued.

Wike is right to be angry and the best thing for him is to leave PDP. He has been the major financier of PDP , on the other hand , Atiku has been enjoying life in Dubai, he comes only to reap where he has not sown. Atiku would scatter PDP if he had not won the presidential ticket.Atiku is selfish. You cannot know him more than Obasanjo

Sule Lamido who have lined up his children as PDP governorship, senatorial and HoR candidates in Jigawa in 2023 elections is acting like he is rational in advising Nyesom Wike who is behaving like they took away his favorite toy because lost presidential primary.

Wike is dependable and a very strong pillar in the party. Unfortunately the likes of Okowa showed him that politics is not a straight forward game. Deceit, betrayals and lies play the major part in politics.
