Until we all shy away from sentimental games of politics of interest and tribalism, we won't see and agree that the cost of living in rising everywhere in the world.
As the people demands increases so the taxes from the government.
Lagos operate on a "direct" and "indirect" tax system to function as a state.
Other states are also increasing there tax rate but less to show for it yet you all complain of Lagos.
Let's accept the realities of things.
Let's hope and pray that the war in europe doesn't escalate outside Ukraine.

You do realize this increase has nothing to do with Tinubu right? Do you people think at all?

Mehn, the rate things are going up generally in Nigeria, it seems the government operates as a non existing entity.

It's not "it seems". The government actually operates as a non existing entity. Buhari travels abroad almost every week to attend conferences he has no business with despite all the problems in the country. It shows you where the emphasis is... unfortunately, those who are supposed to be talking, the opposition, activists and the press, are all silent. And some nigerians still want APC to continue

You see what you said is the reason why we have problem in this country. You look at things only from your own worldview and position, without considering that there are millions of people out there who do not enjoy the privileges you enjoy.

A salary earner goes to work about 22 times every month. His salary can't really meet up with his current expenditure. Now you add N4400 naira to his transport costs monthly. Where on earth do you want him to get the money from? Or do you not know that the implication of the N100 increment is N4,400 naira (minimum) on a monthly basis? For some it would actually be more if they need more than one BRT entry per trip.

Make we dey consider other people abeg.

its actually cheaper to journey or transit in other states than Lagos, note I am a Lagos who was born and lived in Lagos for over 46 years. I travel often to other states for projects so I know what I am talking about, N200 can take you from one community to another community in places like Delta and Edo states.

Who is responsible for the jump in diesel? Is APC not the ones Nigerians voted into power to solve problems?

Why are you people always looking to defend an anomaly? How much are you paid?

Ojota protest comes to mind. Increase was about 60% the current clowns in government were ready to shut down Nigeria. Today we have experienced about 500% increase in Gas and diesel and everyone is quiet.

There are other means of transportation in lagos. One can also decide to trek to his or her destination as no be by force to stay for lagos o.

However the government no de reason citizen side at all. To increase cost of living no dey hard dem to do but to increase minimum wage dey take ages plus vawulence.

And your OBi show us any mass transit scheme he initiated that's still existing till now let's compare the fare since you people want a subsidize fare...

Whose fault is it that diesel price jumped? Is this govt not part of those that mobilised votes for buhari to return a second term promising heaven and earth despite being a failure? They should go meet buhari to bring down price of diesel

I don't know why non-Lagosians are trying to blackmail us to love Tinubu. Anyone that lives in Lagos knows majority of Lagos residents don't love Tinubu.

They claim he developed Lagos, but Lagos has one of the worst roads in Nigeria. Aba state roads is far better than Lagos State roads.

Most of the FG roads are good in Lagos.

Remove thugs in Lagos, there is no way Tinubu candidates will win Lagos.

NEVER

Now, they have increased BRT price to #600 and expect people to be happy with them.

If Osinbanjo, our star boy can lose his polling unit, who is BAT.

Election no far again. We shall see

The one plying Ojodu Berger to Ikeja will be greatly affected. Passenger will prefer to enter yellow bus because it's 200naira and will load faster than Lagos bus afterall they no longer use AC in more than 80% of these buses

Increasing salary won't be a bad idea.

How about reducing the total package and pensions of serving & retired public office holders, like the governor, LASHA legislooters, LGA chairmen & councillors etc

There are two former governors that by a 2007 law on pension for public office holder, are paid 100 percent of the basic salary of the incumbent governor, receive a house in Lagos and Abuja, six cars every three years and all expenses paid; medical treatment for the governor and members of his family. These persons also receive 300 per cent of their annual basic salary as furniture allowance, 10 percent as maintenance allowance, 20 per cent as utility allowance, and 30 per cent as car maintenance allowance. In a country so severely short in policemen to secure life and property, a former governor will also have eight policemen and two security operatives of the Department of State Services to protect them. These are only for the governors.

Bola Tinubu since 2007 has collected 24 cars under the pension provision and is due to collect another 6 cars in 2022. Babatunde Fashola who left office in 2015 has collected 6 cars and is due to collect his next batch of 6 cars in 2021.
