The governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, has assured residents of Ayedaade and Iwo local governments that his administration would be committed to improving their welfare through massive road construction to boost economic activities.

Senator Adeleke made the disclosure while addressing the people of the local governments at the governorship campaign rallies held today in Ayedaade and Iwo local government areas of Osun State, noting that this will not only bring economic development but also improve the living standard of the people.

In a viral video, members of the Osun State Retirees Association gathered upstage, singing and appealing to Senator Ademola Adeleke to come to their aid over unpaid pensions by the Oyetola-led administration.

Senator Adeleke expressed dissatisfaction over the poor welfare of the state civil servants and pensioners. He stated that payment of salaries and pensions is not an achievement but the primary responsibility of a responsible government because every worker deserves a pay, every retiree who laboured with black hairs on their heads should also be appreciated for their selfless services to the state. He promised to expedite appropriate action on all subject matter immediately he is sworn-in as the governor of Osun State on the 27th of November, 2022.

While addressing the people gathered, Senator Adeleke also disclosed his plans for local government autonomy across the length and breath of the state. He promised to conduct local government elections thereby bringing government to the people at the grassroots levels, reiterating his desire to see the state transformed, build a home and investment destination to people from all walks of life.

Dignitaries present at the epochmaking rally include the senatorial candidate of Osun West, Akogun Lere Oyewumi, PhD, Senator Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation led by Hon. Sunday Bisi, Prof Adewale A. Oladipo, Hon. Abiodun Fafa Ojo, Baba Morakinyo, Chairman Caretaker Committee, Dr. Adekunle Akindele, Secretary, Otunba Femi Carrena and other candidates of PDP across Osun West senatorial district.
