Nice... Could still remember my experience in Gombe during service years.  One of such experiences was the one I had when I went to the market to buy something, approaching a shop, obviously due to my looks, the northern guy started speaking Igbo to me, mehn, I was shocked  couldn't even reply him fluently, was just stuttering because of the surprise.The way he mentions prizes in Igbo language threw me off balance, calling hundreds, thousands in Igbo. Voice22: Impressive. We need more content like this. I think Nollywood should make an Igbo seasonal movie featuring non-Igbos who speak Igbo like this man, to showcase the beauty of the language and to encourage native Igbos to be proud of the language. 1 Like |

It should never be a surprise to speak another tribes langauges, we already collectively speak english. Multilingualism should be encouraged |

Ndibunna: Same thing I was thinking. There are lots of Igbos who speak fluent Hausa. They (the Hausas) don't consider it a big deal over there. In fact, some of them expect you to know their language, while they generally have no interest in yours. 1 Like |
