Akpabio: APC accuses Mike Igini of bias, petitions Presidency

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has dragged Akwa Ibom State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Mike Igini to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustafa over the non-recognition of former Niger Delta Affairs Minister GodswilL Akpabio as a senatorial candidate.

The APC accused Igini of disobeying a court order for AkpabIo’s candidacy to be upheld and for unlawfully recognising a candidate produced by a factional group in the state chapter of the party.

In a petition to the SGF, the party wondered why an INEC official who is supposed to be an unbiased umpire, was meddling in intra-party affairs.

The APC, therefore, requested Mustafa to forward the petition dated July 1 to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) National Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, as a reminder of its earlier complaint against Igini.

The petition signed by the National Secretary of the party, Senator Iyiola Omisore, was sighted by The Nation yesterday.

The Nation gathered that the ruling party was peeved by the REC’s alleged statement that INEC did not witness its senatorial primary for Akwa Ibom North-West that produced Akpabio as a candidate.

Is the presidency only for APC members? Nothing should happen to the upright Igini.

As in what capacity really? I thought INEC is an independent organization or am I missing something?

Mike Igini doesn't give a Bleep. When I listened to the man talk recently on Channels abi AIT abi TVC , one of dem sha, I noticed he is a very adamant fellow in what he does so far it is good in his wisdom, which most times it is.

When you make enemies in both parties overtime, that is a sign that you are doing the right thing. PDP and APC don wan buy this man but no way.

What case does Akpabio have ? They're just trying to illegally compensate him so he won't lose relevance for four years both ways. He contested for presidency in the APC primaries where the election took place before the senatorial primaries. His name can NEVER have been on both nomination forms hence he contested ONLY the presidential primaries so what does he want Mike Igini to do ? Even if INEC carelessly orders a rerun primaries today (not possible) he still can't contest because the names given by both alleged factions could never logically contain include Akpabio except the APC wants to do it's usual abracadabra bastardization of legal processes

... Akpabio is s greedy politcian..he did not participate in the primaries that was held on May 26th 2022...he was busy chasing his presidential ambition ..now he was to collect the senatorial candidate position by force from the person that won the primaries...he is a greedy person

Akpabio did not participate in the APC senatorial primaries held in May 26th 2022, he was busy chasing his presidential ambition and went to step down for tinubu.. and now wants to collect by force the senatorial candidate position from the person that won the senatorial APC primaries... akpabio is a selfish and greedy person

He was in PDP with udoedehe, he chased udoedehe out of the party n d man went to ACN which later change to APC. So Akpabio as u defect to APC , I think u should respect n queue behind udoedehe in the party hierarchy. But Akpabio feel wat money cannot do more money can do.
