Please, i need information. I got married and changed my name. Now i want to apply for a new visa and was thinking that i would need to change the passport. Does anybody know the procedure, i found out from a friend that the procedure is really onerous and i have to go to Abuja to do it.

Does anyone have a clue? Do i even need to change my passport or i can use my old passport to apply for the UK visa?

nope u can not apply for visa with old passport
it easy to change your name if u are really married
u have a married certificate right?if yes it want u need.
plus if u nerve have e-passport before,i don't see any reason for
you to tell Nigeria immigration that u had a pass with another family name
get appointment and make a new pass,u no need to go to Abuja
for that,Abuja only treat lost case and wrong data.

Thanks Markenny but i thought the reason for the e-passport is to stop multiple passports?
Is it not illegal to have two e-passports and even impossible?
Do u know anyone that did it and got away with it?

I am really desperate now as i have my sister's wedding to attend next month and i don't have a visa yet cos of this passport thingy.

you said u have old int passport not, e-passport right?if u nerva
have e-passport before u no need to tell them u already have one
b4.cos the int passport has no finger print on it.

or make appointment for new passport and take both along with
your marriage certificate,then explain to immigration officer
the reason u want to change your name on the new
passport.that's all.

a friend of mine apply for visa with old passport
embassy demand new e-passport,he apply for e-passport
and he kept the two password.they ask him if he have old passport he
said no.they will not find out cos there is no finger print on the old one.

@ Markenny, you have misunderstood me. The topic is renewing an e-passport. I already have an e-passport that is not due to be renewed until 2013. I want to change the name on my passport. So, i was asking for the procedure and if i even need to change the name to apply for the visa.
