Main Purpose and Scope of the Role:

This role will oversee the day-to-day management of the centre whose activities targets, and timeframes are outlined in the approved logframe which will inform the role’s Annual Workplan and KPIs.

The Centre Manager will be responsible for ensuring the centre is used to its full capacity, establishing and maintaining links within the local community, and direct delivery of training, services, and marketing sessions.



Duties and Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the overall smooth running of the centre and all its activity strands.

Work closely with library staff, Eden security, and other key partners

Be the lead staff member, running the Centre, at least five sessions (flexi-work hours may be possible) (9am – 5pm) a week, including Saturdays

Communicate effectively with all core staff, freelancers and partners to ensure the centre is running safely and effectively and be a positive role model at all times

Develop a positive rapport with all farmers based on respect and trust, ensuring the Rural Service Centre is a safe and welcoming place.

Establish boundaries and challenge inappropriate behaviour.

Mentor, coach and support individuals' women farmers.

Manage, support and mentor staff, including youth work apprentices.

Undertake administrative tasks relating to the centre’s efficient running, maintain effective recording systems and respond to queries.

Manage petty cash – FLOAT / IMPREST

Write weekly reports including stats (format to be agreed)

Write Inputs for reports and presentations as and when required.

Work collaboratively with local community organisations to offer the best services.

Act as an Ambassador for the Rural Service Centre always.

Work closely with radio stations, Community leaders, Lead farmers and OAI IMS team in marketing various activities in the Rural Service Centre.



General Responsibilities:

Support events and meetings when required.

Support the continued development of quality standards

To have regard for the vision of the Rural Service Centre and to display a commitment to equal opportunities for every farmer who uses the Centre.

Report any behaviour, conversations or comments which are inappropriate within a setting for children and young people.

To carry out any other duties as required by your Line Manager.

Administering your own workload which includes meeting targets and deadlines in line with the KPIs agreed for the role.

Attend relevant training events as identified and deemed necessary during performance appraisals and in the course of the role.

Undertaking proactive responsibility, as part of the team, for all Health and Safety work-related matters.

Working within the guidelines of Living Hope and Care and company policies and procedures.



Essential Criteria:

The candidate must have good communication and writing skills both in English and Yoruba.

Code of Conduct and Ethics in dealing with vulnerable less empowered individuals.

Renumeration: N80,000
