I watched a video that was very very close. The most vulnerable time for a President to be taken out is during Campaigns. I know they usually have Security outposts everywhere. Infact, no two should be looking at the same direction at the same time. Someone will have picked his movement, if some of them were backing the ex-PM, rather than I don't know whether chanting with the supporters or what.

Again, no bullet-proof vest, it wouldn't have killed him if he wore one. I prefer to say the Security team was non-existent.

That's the thing....it is difficult to get a gun in Japan. You have to be registered by the police, and subject yourself to questioning by the police, and also get evaluated by a mental health professional. And after all the stress...it qualifies you for a tame shotgun. Not a rifle or sniper type gun.
