Many candidates have lost their party nomination and jumped Party to contest in the general election and INEC never disqualified any candidates elected on consensus during primary election.

Which section of the Electoral law says that a candidate whose name did not appear on the list submitted by a political party to INEC should be disqualified?

Second, is Ahmed alien to what is called “waiver” in a political party? That someone can join a political party this morning and be given a waiver to stand for election in the afternoon and no law is broken because it’s entirely an internal party affair.

Again, is their any law regulating the grant of waiver by a political party?

In fact, is there any law at all that says a candidate of a particular party must be a member of that particular political party? What the law says is that a candidate must be sponsored by a political party; it didn’t say such candidate “must be a member” of the party.
