New Ebola-like Virus Erupts In Ghana - Marburg by Jakumo(m): 7:10am On Jul 19, 2022
This news appeared just this morning about an incurable virus that is very similar to Ebola, that has been identified in Ghana, where two people have already died from it. There is currently no vaccine to prevent this deadly ailment, although antibiotics and rehydration treatments are marginally effective in some cases.

After the coronavirus pandemic and the rise of monkeypox cases, news of another virus can trigger nerves globally. The highly infectious Marburg virus has been reported in the West African country of Ghana this week, according to the World Health Organization.

Two unrelated people died after testing positive for Marburg in the southern Ashanti region of the country, the WHO said Sunday, confirming lab results from Ghana's health service. The highly infectious disease is similar to Ebola and has no vaccine.

To you, eminent bat eaters in da house, now is the time to stop eating and worshipping bats. Y'all know who you are. On a serious note, the likelihood that this is the start of a new global pandemic is statistically low, BUT it would nonetheless be prudent to suspend any travel plans to Ghana for the time being.
