Mr. you are getting the concept wrong; cash and cash equivalents are assets (which must total Liabilities and Owner Equity). GDP on the other hand is an economic term used to gauge how an economy grows in terms of its component. These are two different terms. U.S. is currently spending more than they earn; that is giving them a negative cash flow hence the debt they are into.

So if you know they are different indicators, why did you mention U.S. GDP as comparable to U.S. companies "Assets"? That was my whole point to you that you got the concept WRONG; comparing GDP to Assets. Besides, NO ONE was saying who was richer or wealthiest; that's another term on its own. Just because you have $80billion in cash at hand for operating activities, doesn't make you wealthy or rich if you liabilities is for instance $70billion (borrowing under financing activities) and that's what's the U.S. is into. They have disposable cash on hand but mostly debt liabilities (Bond and treasury payable), that don't make them richer else U.S. wont be debt. You need to take a closer look at the fed's financial statement. Please brother, I will recommend that you read a lil further to gain that knowledge because you seem a lil confused. Please, I would also advice that you read about concepts on CASH FLOW STATEMENTS and it's components and how it affects the balance sheets.
