Which dirty human right?.
If you've ever owned or managed a business in which theft is rife among employees, you would know that no measure is too draconian to serve as a deterrent. Theft and other irregularities kill businesses faster than all other factors combined.
Why do you think hotels go out of business so easily? It's because the managers, receptionists, bartenders and cooks collaborate to give out rooms on short time stay, use the hotel's facilities to do their private businesses, steal food items and drinks, spoil things, and get paid at the end of the month while the MD is thrown into a cycle of unending repairs that fleece him of his profits and capital. Before a few months, the hotel becomes a shadow of itself, the same ruthless personnel run away and it's a wrap.

When certain stories are narrated in a very sensational manner, this is usually the result and since a politician is involved, he's the villain by default.

1million too small na. What is a million naira compared to the cost of litigation since 2020 Should have been 20million each. The judge no try at all, despite that she is a woman herself and three of the victims were women

At the end it was a slap on the wrist and would probably not serve as a deterrent to others

You're too stupid to read where the judge dismissed his claims that they stole from him. Useless grunt.

Oga calm down.
When enterprises are grown organically by those who envision, then built by patience, knowledge and diligence the rate of success is a lot higher.

But you see, when you have a politician that throws money around thinking he is making hay without an iota of competence, fidelity and grace this is often the result.

Those workers know the so called investment is likely the proceeds of corruption, they see it all around and are convinced their nibbling round the edges will not be missed.

That is the lot of corruption and those who play in it. It has no certain future but is quick to fester, grow and consume all that are around and are beneficiaries directly or indirectly.

If he is not a hotelier 'by birth' his best chance at success and peace of mind will have been to invest his resources (genuine or not) into those who's passion and calling and 'life' is all about the business.

That is what happens in other climes. There are investment vehicles all over the place where patrons can place their funds to receive dividends. That is when 'looting' can have a human face in creating proper sustainable jobs and industry.

But the second and third evils of corruption can often kick in to thwart this, the evils of fear and greed, that play havoc on rational thinking.

He won't pay.

Who would enforce the judgment?

If he refused to pay immediately the #1m will definitely start accumulating interests on it monthly and the victims might institute another suit for enforcement later.

This has been his handwork since. Even to pay his workers salary is a problem and if you demand for your salary he will beat you up and sack you.
