CAF has announced Senegal's Sadio Mane as the men's player of the year and Nigeria's Asisat Oshoala as the women's player of the year. Mane beat the likes of Egypt's Salah and fellow country man, Mendy to the award. Mane provided 30 goals and assists for Liverpool during the 2021/2022 season. The Bayern Munich forward also won the just concluded African Cup of Nations, emerging the best player of the tournament. Assist Oshoala also had a wonderful season with Barcelona winning the Champions League and all their league matches.
