On the contrary the urhobos ceded land to strangers who from the coastal areas came to the hinterland,they were given land to farm but latter claimed ownership.The urhobo's are the fifth largest ethnic group in Nigeria and the largest in Delta state,they contribute more than 30% to the nations wealth through oil and gas exploration.they're very hospitable to strangers and their neighbours.who're the tiv,who are the sub tribe that came out from them.name them.

As for the topic, the next Delta Gov is definitely Urhobo irrespective of party & that's fine by me. All these "people's choice" yarn na wash. None carry the people for mind. Na either Okowa have his way or Ibori have his way, or worst case scenario Agege enter.

The Urhobos were the largest ethnic group in the Midwest (A region the Benin Ethnicity was part of). Infact, the Urhobos had more population than the combined numbers of Bini, Esan and other sub-edoid groups in Edo state (Refer to the Midwest population census).

In Eastern Yoruba territory, they were the largest non-indigene. Infact, every non-Yoruba were referred to as Sobo. Let's not even talk about how they swam Jos and neighboring states.

A real population should be conducted so we can know our real numbers, until then, the Urhobos are by far the largest in the Delta.
