Europe is Britain's back door neighbor, yet they were not colonize and they are also civilize and develop. Africa has turn into an unruly, uncultured and uncivilized continent despite the fact that we were colonized by a civilized and developed nations.
I wish Africans will identify the cause of the continents problems and start making amendments.

The European continent and other developed continents are made up of countries that are divided along ethnic lines, this may be the source of unity among the people because they are of the same language and may be religion.

Nigeria is made up of over 200 languages, how do u expect these cultures to live in unity and achieve a common goal.

Colonialism never add anything to the African person instead it ruined it.Colonialism in Afrcia became necessary after european states couldn 't lord it over themselves again ,thanks to utrecht treaty that maintained balance of power among them but unfortunately for the black man,the europeans came,told golden lies of their backwardness all because of economic exploitation.
Whether britain or other european states,they are all out to spread and enforce their hegemony over Africa !

How can britain colonize europe when france, spain and portugal were flexing muscles then?
Secondly I can't image how over 200 ethnic groups in Nigeria will form individual countries. Some ethnic group MUST merge together. It boils down to the ability to manage the merging of ethnics groups together.

France did not only flex their muscles but have contributed immensely to european civilization than a conservative britain.the french revolution is a signpost to how they championed a good cause for europe than britain,maybe Nigeria would have been better than this if france had colonized us !

It would be harder for europeans to colonize themselves back then.

absolutely stoopid  to think that africa was uncivilized prior to the colonial era, How can you call a savage who maimed raped and displaced africans without provocation civlized? i think  you must have been reading journals/books written by these idiots whose inertia to facts  and bigotry is inherent  

Africa's problem has always been the adoption of Europe's political and economical structure  , what we need is unity and coherence to break the shackles of neo-colonialism and tribalism , Nationalization, relinquish allegiance to europe and its organisations, a deep review of our political and economical history to see if we can garner anything that will help us remodel our socio-economic and  political structure
