The Nigerian political space has in recent weeks been dominated with heated discussions on the APC presidential candidate's choice of a fellow Muslim as his running mate. Lately, a new group has emerged within the APC named Progressive Christian group. The group comprise of prominent party leaders as Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Solomon Lalong and Babachir Lawal.
The conspiracy among these three politician might not be far from the fact each of them had eyed the VP position being christians from northern extraction.
My Take:
An evaluation of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu presents him as a man who has been tested with leadership. He was the executive governor of Lagos for 8 years between 1999 and 2007. Throughout his tenures, he was never in the news for attempting to Islamise Lagos. His wife too has been a devoted christian under his roof. Remi Tinubu rose to the position of pastor in RCCG.
The peddlers of divisive attacks are only out to demarket the outstanding candidacy in Tinubu to sell their candidates.

I dont believe his choice of Muslim VP is aimed at ridiculing Christians. His decision is strategic. It is just aimed at getting handsome votes from the north.

BAT, & by extension APC, are entitled to their choices. The Muslim-Muslim ticket might seem insensitive especially given the present socio-religious tension in Nigeria. However, at the end of the day, BAT is more concerned about winning & has shown that he has little regard for the Christian faith.

That said, those who are against it should show their rejection at the polls...

On BAT'S wife being a Pastor, that does not really hold water because she was a Christian when they met. Her pastoral mission started in the last 6-7 years & given BAT's admission that becoming president is a life long ambition for him, RT becoming a pastor was probably part of the long term plan. A better perspective would be to ask how many of BAT'S children are Christians? To the best of my knowledge, none. Is that to say none of the kids chose to follow their mother's religious faith or was that choice not made available to them...

Whoelse would any forward thinking Nigerian vote for? Is it Atiku? Atiku who insults the sensibility of the whole south (South East, South South and South West) after a northerner like him has presided over Nigeria for the maximxm constitutional limit of 8 years!
His stance is in utter disregard to the need for power movement within the diverse regions in the country.
Or would you rather go for Peter Obi who has limited politics to the confines of religion, jumping from one crusade to one church service?
His strategy is too petty, and so, its dead on arrival, PO is obviously fighting a deadly battle with kid gloves.
Asiwaju is the man to beat in this contest. On several occassions, he has reminded the Nigerian electorate of his landslide achievements as two terms executive governor of Lagos State.

With a deep sense humility, by glaring political calculation, Christian-Christian pairing will fail woefully!
REASON:
Muslims are more politically active and the political stronghold of Nigeria (North) is dominated by muslims. Until recently, our pastors have reorientated us into believing that joining politics is equal to dinning with the devil.
