The Imo state University medical students association have launched a brand new website imsumsa.com.ng .

The website which is mearnt to improve the global brand and visibility of IMSUMSA and provide economic opportunities for the association was launched on Friday the 6TH of August 2022 .

The Moderator of the event Comr. Noel Osuji the president of IMSU debating union and also doubles as the P.R.O of IMSUMSA was on ground to kick the event rolling as he invited the reviewer of the website Comr. Ahaneku Ekene who is the special guest of the event and the Chairman Nigerian Medical Students Association South east Caucus.

The reviewer pointed many positives in the website especial the incorporation of the library section which was loaded with lots of accademic materials while noting that journals and magazines could be downloaded from the library . He lauded the user interface and described it as user friendly while pointing to the gateway that linked the website to the social media platforms a step in the right direction.

He however pointed to some things he feels needs to be improved upon especially a section where students can make post on the website and comment . He noted that in general the website would be used for documentation of the activities of the government of IMSUMSA and asked for a sustainability plan to keep the webstite active and online over the years .

The website Designer Comr. Jesse Akubude who was also a one time Speaker/ Ag. President of the associatiob was given the floor to talk about the website. He stated that the history of the website dates back to 2021 when he was the ag. President and its been a work in progress with support from FECAMDS IMSU chapter who allowed for integration of her e-Library to the website alongside the President Comr. Ezeji Obinna who supported the project even before he emerged as president .

He pointed out the features of the website especially the e-library , blog section , support center and social media integration. He noted that the association now have a new professional email info@imsumsa.com.ng and the association is willing to provide any of her members a IMSU medical branded email as well as a biography page akin to Wikipedia called IMSUMSAPEDIA where the biography and social channels of her members will be published .

He also said that the immediate future plan is to incorporate e-commerce into the website where people can easily buy merchandise like branded ward suites , text books etc.

It was now time for the president to give his vote of thanks . The president Comr. Ezeji Obinna noted that this is a promise made and promise delivered noting that the talk of a website for IMSUMSA has been on the pipeline for donkey years as past leaders have promised it but didn’t deliver , He also said he was going to continue to support its sustainability even when he leaves the school as this is a legacy for IMSUMSITES to cherish. He thanked everyone that made out time to attend the launching and declared the IMSUMSA website imsumsa.com.ng as officially launched .
