The joint task force for security in the niger delta's spokes person, major musa sagir has said that peace has returned to the recently troubled city of port harcourt due to the arrest of suspected cultists and militants.

Following the usual trend of arresting innocent citizens as well as offenders, one wonders if the JTF officers have not also hounded law abiding nigerians in a bid to pacify and justify their operations in the niger delta.

He agrees that none of the gang leaders have been apprehended but that very soon they too will be arrested.

A militant posing without his gun is as good as any innocent citizen

That is the complexity of the situation.

these people are fools.
How can people destroy their own land and claim they are fighting to get sympathy for their land.
They ought to be castrated in the market square as a deterrent to other fools.
This is assuming they didn't just capture innocent citizens.

The massob militants and their niger delta cousins should be rounded up and tortured.
dimka should be with them too.

after the torture dimka should be given a cup of blended week old periwinkles left in the ogoni sun.

Those people causing mayhem are not militants; they are political thugs who are being owed salaries by the state government.

LMFAO! And pray tell what is the difference. When they kidnap people for MEND they are militants. When MEND declares "ceasefire" and they turn their guns on the indigenous people cause they have nothing else to do, they are thugs. What a comfortable cycle.

Speaking to newsmen, a police source that preferred anonymity disclosed that the three men arrested engaged the police in a gun battle which lasted for over three hours, and consequently sent the residents of the sleepy island on the run.

He added that the men, who are currently with the police, have confessed to carrying out various degrees of crimes, ranging from kidnapping, raping and armed robbery.

If the above is proven to be true, then they should be made to face the consequences of their actions.
