Kanunta Kanu, younger brother of the detained Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafran, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has blamed South East governors and political leaders for missing a golden opportunity that would have made Nigeria to be begging the zone to produce the President in 2023. According to him if Leaders from the zone had not worked against his brother and the agitation for Biafra, the Federal Government would have been begging them now to take the presidency and remain in Nigeria. Kanunta who spoke at Ikengaonline virtual town hall meeting, said that if the political elite from the zone had identified with the agitation for Biafra, the Nigeria Authorities would have taken them more seriously and be calling them for negotiation. He regretted that despite working against the interest of Ndigbo in their desperation to please the federal powers, Igbo political elite have also been ‘used and dumped’ by the federal powers. Kanunta also expressed disappointment at the unwillingness of South East political elite to comment on the existential security threat posed by the menacing activities of herdsmen in South East. He further maintained that Biafran actualisation would become easier if the political elite indentified with the cause. ” Our political leaders are not even strategic enough. Nigeria would have called them to negotiate and even offer them the Presidency on a platter of gold if they had identified with the Biafra liberation movement”. He regretted that instead of boldly championing the cause of the zone South East Governors and political elite have rather chosen to maintain sealed lips for political correctness. He said that his brother “is being persecuted today not because he commited any crime” but because of his passion to secure freedom for the oppressed people of South-East, yet the Leaders in the zone have abandoned him to his fate”. Kanunta accused the South East leaders of insensitivity and nonchalance about the future of the zone. “My brother was renditioned from Kenya to Nigeria and has been in detention for over one year now. And our leaders are finding it difficult to talk about him or Biafra. ” Why is it that the South East Governors and Leaders are also not talking about the killings and Kidnappings by Fulani herdsmen in our zone? The bandits imported insecurity in our land but our Leaders have refused to talk about all these, rather everybody is after 2023 election. ” Who will vote for them in 2023 if they kill all the people? My brother is where he is today, suffering for speaking the truth. He is there because he is condemning the exclusion and suppression of our people. ” Bandits have been imported into our land ; over 3000 of them in Imo State. They are the ones killing our people and Kidnapping them like fowls but nobody is taking about it. 1 Like

Since you're not a well wisher and don't donate to the organisation, what then is your business and locus-standi in the matter? Vulturereloaded: Dude, Nelson Mandela used a platform (the ANC) as a vehicle to help realise his ambitions just as Mazi Kanu is using the platform of IPOB! ANC would have had its own modus for raising funds and sustaining its operations. Or was your dumb self expecting the ANC of the time to be registered in apartheid South Africa and the UK? Mazi Kanu can claim anything regarding who he feels should be part of Biafra (i personally don't agree with him regarding the inclusion of some ethnicities from the so called 'south-south'), but ultimately it's for all ethnicities invited to form the union to either agree or reject the offer. A new Biafra would not be like your evil 'one Nigeria' that compels everyone to be together through the barrel of a gun! If you think IPOB wasn't demanding for Biafra during the GEJ regime, then you're not a good student of history! The diffference between GEJ and the beast presently president in Nigeria was approach: one values the lives of Igbos' and Biafrans' and didn't use the approach of state sanctioned murder to tackle the issue....while the other hates and despises Igbos' and sees nothing wrong in sending his murderous soldiers to mow down peaceful agitators in the region! PS- That clip you attached just shows Mazi kanu once believed in Nigeria just like i once did. Also, his willingness to have a meeting with South-East Governors (just before Buhari decided it was a good idea to send his Fulani soldiers down to Afaraukwu), with a view to dousing tensions in the region, shows that IPOB isn't unreasonable and are amenable to meeting the other side halfway! |

You claim Nigeria was forced, but you have not agreed with the people of South South, before forcing them into your Biafra. So it is one man Nnamdi kanu that decides who is part of Biafra and who is not. He makes decision for the South East and South South. Forcing Igbo's to sit at home against their will. Vulturereloaded: Quit sounding daft! GEJ didn’t agree to….or reject Biafra! He just didn’t go after them insofar as they were just agitating peacefully! It was your god Buhari that went after IPOB, and other peaceful Biafra agitators, with state-sanctioned murder….probably because the Fulani in him (that sees Igbos’ as beneath him and 2nd class citizens) just couldn’t stomach seeing us agitate for separation from the ‘one Nigeria’ he and his kinsfolk ‘own’ and use as their ATM! Don’t know what you’re on about in your second paragraph, but just know the agitation for Biafra to secede started way back….from the time of OBJ, and like i said their peaceful agitation never posed a threat to anyone until the coming of the Pharaoh Buhari who seems to thrive on shedding innocent Igbo/Biafran blood! What made Mazi Kanu give up on Nigeria is exactly the same thing that made me give up on it: injustice; state-sanctioned murders; anti-Igbo policies and political-economy by central gov’ts over the years; lack of a level playing field for all; and -the last straw that broke the camels’ back- Fulani herdsmen/bandits/terrorists making incursions into the south! Now assuming Biafra comes into being tomorrow, care to tell us just how Mazi Kanu and IPOB would go about forcing unwilling partners -like say the Ijaw, Itshekiri and Ogoni- to join a seceding Igbo nation!? Give us a step-by-step narration of how this would happen! I can tell you how ‘one Nigeria’ forced and continues to force Ndigbo to be a part of them..,,it’s known to all and sundry! Mazi Kanu makes decisions only as far as IPOB is concerned! He does not have the powers or the inclination to force any ethnicity -even Ndigbo- to do what they don’t want to do! That’s the beauty of freedom of choice and democracy….concepts that are alien to your Fulani controlled ‘one Nigeria’! Neither Mazi Kanu nor IPOB have forced anyone to sit at home! Whatever violence to hear about or witness aimed at forcing anyone in the south-east to sit at home….these are false flag operations being carried out by the Nigerian deep state aimed at trying to paint IPOB in an unfavourable light! |
