A police officer with the force number 524503 who engaged in serious misbehaviour was fired by the Nigeria Police Force as a result of a widely shared video.
According to DAILY POST, the lately popular social media video showed the fired police beating a man with a machete.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement that the dismissal is effective as of today, August 8, 2022.

According to the statement, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkaki Baba also expressed disappointment at the reports of brutality and extortion leveled against some police officers via various complaint channels available to the public, particularly on social media platforms.

He said the IGP has directed all supervising Commissioners of Police and Tactical/Strategic Commanders to ensure strict supervision of their personnel as further incidences of this nature would be viewed strictly.

They should jail him

Too many unprofessional recruits in the NPF.
Its not only sacking them when this type of police brutality makes the news.
The police institution should do better in terms of training, retraining, welfare and psychology of employed officers as this has almost become the norm with police officers on and offduty.
